Hey DH,I have been stalking the forums, reading the books, and listening to the podcasts. I'm on day 2 of prep for CBL and I have just discovered how much I love chorizo. I'm glad to be here and to continue being my own experiment. Thanks for being a part of the journey...

Chorizo has sugar in it, so make sure you count the carbs.

Good looking out. Thanks. The kind I found has 1g usable carbs, so I figure it's safe in moderation. It was one of the (many) things that some of my older ideas about a diet hadn't really allowed a place for. Along those same lines, I have determined that bacon, heavy cream, 80/20 ground beef and butter are all also very tasty...

Big Tex, Thanks for the welcome!I'm 5'4 and about 130 so my main goal is lean mass and strength gain...and I really wanna eat cereal in the process. 🙂I found CBL after a year of Leangains-style IF, which got me reasonably lean but  I found some aspects of it difficult to sustain, particularly the obsessive macro/cal counting. I kinda reached a breaking point with that around the same time that I heard of CBL. This seemed like a little more sustainable lifestyle so I started reading and decided to give it a go.How long have you been working with CNS/CBL? How is it going?Edit: format

Yeah the only thing you truly have to worry about is during the ULC part of the day is not getting over 30g of Carbs, matching fat to proteins in grams and not worry about calories. How long have you been working with CNS/CBL? How is it going?Oh I wish I was employed by DH haha, I'm just a member that has his ups and downs with CBL and CNS. Got involved when the book came out in November. During this whole process I did have progress however by messing it up various times I have not gotten that lean I truly want. Though I have not gotten fat like someone normally would if they didn't know how to work carbs, fats, and protein into their lives. 8) Currently doing CNS at the moment and so far after really getting it corrected I am making pretty good progressEdit: format

Tex,Thanks for the info. I was thinking SA would be the way to go, particularly for a guy my size. You said you messed up along the way. If you don't me asking, how? I wanna avoid the pitfalls if I can.And I dig that Henry Rollins essay. It always makes me want to squat when I read it...

Oh yes, eating the wrong type of carbs, eating too much and not noticing how to gage it with my body. however I did get strong and didn't get fat. Just not the jack chiseled look I wanted. Plus I wasn't eating the proper types of meals during the ULC time. I was deployed over seas at the time. Haha yeah I have another member here who has motivated me and helped me along introduced me to his essay. Inspired me a lot and can relate to most of it. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
