vimalancityKeymasterHi guys! Just a quick summary. Found out of Carb nite and Carb back-load very recently. Have been weightlifting for almost two years now. Went on a cut once and failed, ended up losing alot of muscle. Did a dirty bulk and went up from 64kg to 80kg in less than ten months. Put on a lot of fat as well. Ended up at 22% b.f. Currently on a cut with low carbs, low fat and high in protein. Lost around 10kg in eight weeks. Planning to get shredded and I still do have quite an amount of fat to lose. Will be switching to carb nite this sunday. So I do have one question. Since I am keeping my carbs 30g or less everyday, can I still do cardio everyday after weight training, even on rest days? Will that affect my muscle growth/maintenance or catabolize my muscles? Thanks and please help! Your help would be much appreciated!

Lesli BortzParticipantIt wouldn't be advisable – do a search on HIIT or cardio. Will be answers more in depth than mine.

vimalancityGuestThank you very much! Since I'm on a five day split, I have two days of rest. So these rest days will be my only cardio days right? And will I still lose weight?

Lasse ElsbakParticipantDid you read the book? The only cardio Kiefer recommends, if any, is low intensity walking or HIIT. Many of his clients go on stage without any cardio whatsoever. My GF has lost over 25lbs on carb nite so far, and she hasn't done any cardio yet.Less is definitely more on this diet. 🙂

Remember, more is not always better. You cannot train to be Mr. Olympia on the Carb Nite Solution... Your ability to recover will be much more limited than that of a carbohydrate-rich diet. Definitely try and control your volume so you don't lose all your damn muscle 8)Also, doesn't Cardio PWO interfere with GH output to some degree? i believe i read this somewhere, wish i could reference it. Common practice is HIT day after the carb nite, even 2 days after, but that's it. I'd go with that
