ScruffyKeymasterSlowly reading/listening my way through every CBL piece of info I can findI'm currently 229 compete in powerlifting raw and geared (USAPL) I got dunk tanked two years ago and came back at 14-15% (I forget which)Best raw lifts are 540/405/532 (short arms)Geared lifts 678/462/532 (sucky suit deadlift technique)Hoping to maintain my current bw while doing a little bit of recomp, but mostly interested in performance. I've done CKD before and I love the feeling but it always kills my strength. I have a very mild case of epilepsy, a treatment of which is ultra-low carb dieting so usually keto takes my headaches away so I am working to find a nice ground to take my constant headaches away without decreasing my totalCurrently liftMonday nightWednesday nightFriday night OR Saturday morningCurrently backloadMonday nightWednesday nightFriday nightStill have a lot to learn, any ideas on how I can best accomplish my goals?

TomahawkMemberWelcome to the forum. I plan on doing my first powerlifting meet in October(with USAPL).It looks like you have the right idea as far as when to back load. Another potential day you could do a small back load is on Sunday. It would be a smaller one though. Just make sure to eat plenty of animal during your ULC portion of the day.

My next meet assuming I can stay healthy will be Oct 6th in the USAPL too man. Hoping for 1500 rawI did have one this Sunday, until I move (July 27th) I kinda don't have a choice but to eat whatever the family wants me to. My in-laws will get visible and literally offended if I refuse any food they give me other than wheat because they believe me to be celiac (muahaha)

Well if it is in GA there is a chance it is the same meet. Nice bit of weight.Haha well good luck with the diet. Sounds like that will be the rough part. Most people's dietary choices dont fit in line with CBL.

It is! I'll see you there, it'll be my first meet in GA so I won't know anyone at the meet... where as at Maryland USAPL meets I recognize 95% of people each time. If its your 1st meet overall feel free to private message me your facebook or email or whatever and I can help you out at the meet. Its rough your first time out. I understand the need for e-privacy so no big deal if you don't.

+1 agree on everything there. If you're doing a Friday workout with a big backload you could reap the benefits of doing some assistance training and lightweight touch-up Saturday morning completely fasted. You'll be amazed how good you'll feel, or at least I do. But since I'm not sure how your schedule looks like I dunno if you can do fridaynight with a back to back Saturday morning. Worth trying every other week if you have time.

Awesome, even if I dont compete I will be there. The meet is close to were I live so it will be my ideal first meet. Plus I might know a few people there myself.Definitely let me know if you cant get through to me. Not sure if I sent the right link.

I might play around with it. When I move maybe I can split the Fri OR Sat workout in two and turn it into a Fri and Sat. The volume benching I think would work well fasted. I currently train Mon Squat/Dead and benchWed Squat/Dead and benchFri or Sat Squat/Dead and benchalternating squat and dead every session
