pellpell41293KeymasterSo I'm in the process of training for a marathon, (4 weeks away), which is very new to me since I was always found more in the weight room than the track. Anyways, I stumbled upon CBL and just had a few questions about it.Is the prep phase necessary? With my training, I cannot go without carbs and such for 10 days, I'd drop way too much weight and look like death. On days that I double up on training, which is either 2-3 a week (run in the morning, lift afternoon), Should I pop half a casien shake an hour before my run, and half a protein/fats meal afterwards with half a banana, then continue to eat protein/fats until after my gym session?I'm slowly realizing I should wait until my training is completely try a new diet. Is there anything I should do to prep for my... prep phase? that would then occur a few days after my marathon? Should I just eat a no/low carb breakfest until my prep phase and just try to limit my carbs until the pm?Lots of questions, but I would greatly appreciate any type of advice as for I am very, very interested in this. (Can't wait to load up on a few donuts and nachos one night soon)

Richard SchmittModeratorSo I'm in the process of training for a marathon, (4 weeks away), which is very new to me since I was always found more in the weight room than the track. Anyways, I stumbled upon CBL and just had a few questions about it.Welcome and good luck with the marathon! Is the prep phase necessary? With my training, I cannot go without carbs and such for 10 days, I'd drop way too much weight and look like death. Ah this is difficult to answer. Just because what you said about looking bad. However, this won't happen if you run CBL correctly. Keeping fats high matched with proteins. Eat 1g per body weight of protein, and match it with fat. This will help perverse muscle without making you look like death. It would be a good idea to run the 10 days. On days that I double up on training, which is either 2-3 a week (run in the morning, lift afternoon), Should I pop half a casien shake an hour before my run, and half a protein/fats meal afterwards with half a banana, then continue to eat protein/fats until after my gym session?Don't take anything before a run, do it fasted. If anything try some coffee or caffeine. Also try coffee and coconut oil after wards then stick to a fatty protein meal till you backload that evening. I'm slowly realizing I should wait until my training is completely try a new diet. Is there anything I should do to prep for my... prep phase? that would then occur a few days after my marathon? Should I just eat a no/low carb breakfest until my prep phase and just try to limit my carbs until the pm?Do the prep phase. DH Kiefer has actually had a client on CNS while training for a marathon. He knocked off a little over an hour off her time. Lots of questions, but I would greatly appreciate any type of advice as for I am very, very interested in this.
