Hello DH forum dwellers,      I'm a newbie to the forums so I thought I would introduce myself. I have been lifting weights since I was 14 and I competed in powerlifting for a couple of years as well. I quit competing and became lazy, and fat. I ballooned up to 419 lbs before finally deciding to do something about it. I started a diet called the "Slo-carb" diet by author Tim Ferris, which he detailed in his book the 4 hour body. It basically was a low carb diet where you weren't supposed to eat any carbs except in the form of beans or lentils. It also had a high carb load which was an entire day every six to seven days. I achieved pretty good weight loss results, and I dropped down to 370 lbs in about six months. I was doing a ton of cardio, and working out pretty heavy also. I quickly was realizing that something wasn't right because I didn't feel as good as I should after losing that kind of weight, and my body wasn't becoming any tighter, and I thought that I was actually burning muscle along with losing "weight."      Fast forward another month, and no change in weight or muscle tone and I was extremely frustrated and honestly ready to give up on any further progress. I dropped some shirt sizes so I went online and ordered some "House of Pain" powerlifting t-shirts, and in the box they included a free copy of Mark Bell’s "Power" magazine. In this issue they talked of this crazy diet where you could eat pizza and other terrible goodies and actually build muscle all along while even losing a little bit of fat. So I logged on to DH and began reading Keifer's blogs and quickly realized that this amazing diet wasn't for me...yet. So I purchased CNS gave it a whirl and in three months I went from 370 down to where I am now at 331. I would like to thank Keifer for putting this out there and challenging the so called experts, and I look forward to being an active participant on these forums and to getting stronger, more muscular and wiser on how I can redesign my body.P.S. before anybody calls me out for name dropping other products or name brands I was acknowledging the people responsible for me finding this community!
