I have recently just started to find out about CBL.  Bought the book as well as CNS.  I am due to go into the Police Academy in July and I have been wondering if, at all, I can use CBL or CNS for my training.  Some of my training involves circuit bodyweight training (not exactly Crossfit) with a compound strength movement and running.  It varies from day to day though.Example of one training session:(1) Run 1.5 miles timed(2) Pullup work (20 Pullups program or random reps here and there)(3) Standing Overhead Barbell Press up to 5 sets progressively to 2-3 rep max(4) Bodyweight Circuit for 20-30 minutes or multiple sets such as 15 pushups, 20 situps and rest accordingly(5) 4 more sets of some ab work such as 10 back ext, 45 sec plank hold, 20 flutter kicksThis is one session and varies day to day but progresses week to week.  the next session is some sprinting work, the one after that would be a Long RunWeek looks likeMon: Stated aboveTues: Sprint runs/5-7 pushups every 30s for 5-10 sets/pullups throughout workout/ab workWed: Long Run 3-5miles/several sets of 10pushups, 15 situps/20 Pullups workoutThurs: Bench Press/Deadlifts/easy 2 mile runFri: Sprints again or Fartlek train/20 Pullup workout/5-6 sets of 20pushups, 25 situps.Any advice as to whether CBL would help or not?  I would like to drop about 15 more lbs before academy but need to keep doing good on my workouts.  any advice?  much appreciated!!!!

I would get at least 5 sprints in, if i was going to do sprints Also are you working to failure on your upper body exercises?  I would say you need at least 3 hard sets to failure to really make CBL work for you - Otherwise, keep eating carbohydrates near workout times, and dont go overboard and you will see some Fat loss.  Make sure to get enough protein - this will help support/maintain muscle mass and lean tissue, which is your basal metabolism.

Ok, so i've been gaining weight tryin CBL with my training.  Look a little tighter but too soon to really gauge it.  My ultimate goal is to drop more fat and weight but keep my performance up.  Would CNS be a more beneficial option or would i burn out?  Maybe Carb Nite every few days?  Any advice on that is appreciated

How often are you backloading, and what are you using to backload with, and how much?Daily Macros?I personally started with CN, and will be going on second CN saturday, and I haven't noticed any performance issues.

In all honesty, i havent worked out the macros and all.  My time is spent getting things ready for academy (equipment, psych tests, etc).  I try to watch the amount of protein i have which is 110-150g.  I was 203 when starting but up to 208 now.  I dont get to eat too much during day and keep it pro/fat.  Dinner varies but try to get some carbs while at work then had ice cream last night.  While i woke up feeling slightly tighter, the gaining in weight sucks. Then again i jumped into it w/out prep phase because im on a time constraint

If your main goal is to maintain performance & drop fat, I'd personally go with CNS. If you are dragging after a few days, you might want to CN every 5th night. However, you can always give it another week, monitor it a bit. Might need to clean up your backloads. Go more starchy then sweets. Not sure how often you are backloading, and after what workouts.

Sounds good!  I was dropping fat and doing good when i stuck to salads mostly and only did a re-feed every saturday but started to lack energy after a while which is when i found CBL.
