The one thing that I didnt see in the book that I wondered about was nicotine patches instead of the gum. At least Nicorette gum has corn starch, xylitol, acesulfame potassium, sucralose etc. The nicotine book specifically said to avoid 'carbs' and carb backloading noted a lot of the above ^^ the body can metabolize and treat like carbs. Therefore im wondering whether the straight patches might be an alternative to the gum? Does anyone know any other gum brands that maybe aren't so heavily laden with artificials?thanks!

Kiefer is finding accurate dosages for those alternatives and will release an update later once he finds out.

The amount of those items is so minute that it wont have any effect well under 1 single gram of each.

I didn't get light headed, but I did get visual disturbances a few hours later. My right eye got blurry in a spot as if I had looked at a bright light, then I noticed it was flashing. Lasted about 15 minutes or so before fading.

Eye floaters and flashes seem to happen to quite a few folks on occasion. I've had them a 3-4 times over the years and for me were followed by a migraine. Google eye floaters.

If I were to not train in the morning, I'd go upon waking and I don't generally have MCT till a few hours later anyway.

I always take an am shake around 9:30-10:30am, and have had my nicotine gum at 7:30-7:45.

I don't take mct oil, but I have coffee with double cream and have the gum after. I don't think it really matters when you take it though it doesn't specify an order to do it in the book. The AM shake is for upon waking though so I guess that is the first thing to do.

I used to get migraines.  What you've described is called an "aura" and when I experienced them, I knew that a migraine was on the way.  Thankfully, I haven't had one in years.

According to Nicorette. If you've had any caffeine up to 15mins prior to taking the gum the absorbtion of nicotine in your mouth may be less. So far I've still losed 7lbs since starting just over two weeks ago. Also I've actually increases my backloads by 100g and I have four backloads a week. My training has also not changed in any way to get these results. Same with my Macros. Switching to CN now for a bit to get myself from 14%bf to 10.

I've heard the same thing which makes sense. If you're trying to absorb nicotine through your mouth mucous membranes but you're washing them constantly by drinking any fluid, much of the nicotine will be going into your stomach rather than into your bloodstream like you want. Here is an interesting article:http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/77/6/1442.full

Hmm, I've been starting out my morning with the nicotine, have it for about 15 minutes to 30 before drinking my coffee, and when I finish my coffee I'll throw out my gum as well. Perhaps I'll finish my gum before starting my coffee tomorrow and see how that works for me.

Ah…well that is a bummer and makes sense to wait for coffee. I wonder if a small shot of caffeine with the gum in the morning would work better.

I bet this is why you get nauseous too. Your getting the nicotine in your stomach not into your blood.
