wpMemberSorry to ask a rather dumb question, but I really want to know if anyone here is actually getting great results without any workouts except may be brisk walking? (especially NO HITT)I know this diet doesnt require workouts but sounds like everyone here does have some kind of workout routine.

GnomerParticipantworking out has very little to do with fat loss.. fat loss is mostly influenced by diet among other things but diet is the easiest of them to manipulate. Strength training can help with people who have insulin resistence(which good portion of overweight people have) just keep the sessions short..

Richard SchmittModeratorI know there is one member doing this without training, check out the logs. But honestly, we do it because of wanting to meet certain personal goals. May I ask why you avoid training of some kind?

cloudybrainParticipantMeh.. I think my body is really different compared to people on here. On carb nite, I've been seeing significant gains in muscle than anything else. I've gotten a bit fatter when I first started because I was doing quite a few things wrong in the beginning of the year. But my strength is just insane in the gym. I went from squating 175lbs to 385lbs in just a year.. Tried to do 400lbs just last week, but failed. My deadlifting went from 225lbs for like 4 reps.. to 335lbs for 5 reps.since I started, I gained 20-30 lbs of something.. fat? muscle? mix? no idea.I don't do much activities since I'm a computer programmer.. the only activities I get to do is like 1-2 hours in the gym; other than that.. just sitting around and working. But I need the workout since my physical activities would be nil without it.

I don't think it's unreasonable, or unheard-of, to expect and see strength/muscle increase on CN. That just isn't the protocol's primary focus is all. That being said, with your numbers, it seems like you were fairly untrained when you began, so some of your development could be due to the mystical "noob gains."

+1 fat loss is all about finding the underlying cause of what is making you fat.. for the majority of people it's mostly purely diet related... fix the diet lose the fat:) biggest issue is following a way of eating that isn't just going to make matters even worse IE the typical diet doctors recommend to their patients...

I agree absolutely with both of your points. Kill the source; solve the problem. She found that it was because of how much of a part carbs played in her diet without her even realising. The Dr diets are a scam!! Same with the pills etc. They do no favours.

6-1-13 weight 156 lbs, carb depleted9-28-13 weight 141 lbs, carb depletedBF% is 13-14 now. There was 3 sessions of HIIT somewhere in there, some brisk walking (not enough), and no weight trainingCarb Nites have been crazy, generally about 600g carbs (this is excessive with only 122 lbs lean mass) consisting of cocoa pebbles, fruit loops, cherry pop tarts, pecan pie 8)Progress has been steady all this time. CNS works!

Im not really avoiding working out. But there are sometimes days when i dont feel like it and then i feel guilty for not doing it. Everytime when i finish my carbnite and think about having to do HIIT the few days after, it turns me off! Plus i work in a kitchen and sonetimes do require a bit of energy. So atm i only do weight training but nothing too seriously and i like it. Besides that, i stay pretty disciplined with eating but most weeks i would have carbnite every 6 days instead of 7. Is that very wrong? I am not overweight but do have high bodyfat.

wpMemberSo would any of you think its bad to have CN every 6 days instead of 7?? progress would be slower im sure but i want this to be a lifestyle that makes me happy, usually on my 6th day without carbs i would crave for carbs badly and i think having it every 6th days can prevent me binging or fall off the wagon, as i did last month.

greatm234GuestSo I'm actually just starting my 5th week of Carb Nite and the only exercise I do is brisk walks throughout the day (at most 4 miles between 6:00 A.M.- and 9:00 P.M.).My starting weight was 276lbs. and I'm down to 246lbs as of today. I've tried sticking to the low carb meals outlined in Carb Nite and focus on avoiding the hazards listed in CBL as well (acesulfame potassium is everywhere >:( ). I am more than pleased with the results and once I'm around my ideal weight I plan on transitioning over to CBL.

CN every 6 days should be workable, you can try it and see how it goes. The new routine could be CN every 6 days, but the CN itself is maybe a little smaller than you were doing before. Or maybe it isn't, and you just accept a little slower progress, because it's not a race anyway. Everyone does CN a little different.
