Walnuts are almost all omega 3 and they are the only nut I eat abot 1 oz a day or every second day

I don't think that is true ("almost all omega 3"), but the N6:N3 is about 2:1 so it really is right what you want for ratio. IIRC, macadamia nuts are pretty close to that (? N6:N3 ~3-4:1). Other nuts have higher ratios, so better as small snack/condiment portions rather than a big handful, along with an otherwise rich omega 3 diet.Raw vs. roasted? The polyunsaturated fats (omega 6, omega 3, etc.) are so unstable (oxidizable) with heat, that raw is the way to go. One of the same reasons that seed oils are so bad, super high N6 and heat unstable.

I read that in some paleo articles and also the bulletproof exec. It made me sad because roasted nuts are yummy and my husband is addicted to them and even when I buy them raw he always roasts them! Looks like I'm going to go back to storing a private stash in my desk at work... 😉

Kiefer also mentions in his podcast 2, 3, 4, or 5 (not sure which one ???) most of your fat intake should come from meats and instead of nuts and oils. I remember because I was eating walnuts every day, and it was so easy to hit my fat intake. But after a while discovered the fats from grass-fed beef were much better for the diet.

I have 1/4 cup walnuts every day.  2 net carbs and very tasty. Also 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds. 1 net carb.
