I know this is an old article but as I was going through my FD locker I found this and reread it.  Was wondering what some of your thoughts are on it.  Has some references to fasted training, leucine, and some other common thoughts.  http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/the_ultimate_cardio_solution_disclosedAlso, I know this article is pushing the Mag-10 thing but I was more interested in the info on the leucine-casein thing.Had this in Cardio forum but it didn't get much response - thought I'd try here

Sounds like it has potential, but for some of us, the leucine hydrosalate during workout may cause a hyperglycemic response.  It probably would for me.

But it raises insulin not glucose, right?

I believe you are correct, I do not know exactly how tied in insulin and glucose are, I do know if I have anything with sugar, or a large protein shake before any sort of intense excercise, I get dizzy, starving and sometimes get a headache. Eating low carb has greatly reduced that, but I don't want to find out how much it still happens. Others may not have that issue.

I've experimented with having leucine, leucine and protein, leucine protein and carb, or just water during training. I have noticed very little difference with each. Honestly what I have eaten the day before has a much bigger impact on how my training goes.Or coffee, coffee always helps.
