alextheGR8MemberI presented a theory to Kiefer a month back, and I will present it to the forum today. I have used both CBL and CNS exclusively for the past two years, depending on physique and training goals. Through Ben Pakulski, I heard about how he optimizes training and recovery with a Compex muscle stimulator. My theory is that with the aid of EMS, one could optimize CBL through enhanced glucose absorption into the muscles as EMS activates the same pathways. Through my knowledge and from what I have gathered from the research, the theory makes a lot of sense and can be used in addition to normal training. I having been using this on Carbnite to enhance glucose clearance. ( I'm cutting for a beach vacation.) When I return to CBL, I plan to put theory to practice in addition to my current training, as a way to really stimulate the muscles. I am curious of some other's take on my theory.

TCBParticipantI clicked this thinking it was about using CBL while working for EMS (Emergency Medical Services), ha.However, regarding the actual topic.. I could swear I remember hearing Kiefer talk about something similar in the past, and my brain is telling me he said that it wouldn't really matter because they're involuntary muscle contractions or some such nonsense. I could be COMPLETELY wrong, cuz it's a little fuzzy, but I feel like I've heard that.In other words.. I'm no help.

alextheGR8MemberI don't see how the difference between voluntary/involuntary make a difference. In the studies it shows the spike in GLUT-4 for 90 minutes I believe. The muscle is contracting, thats all your trying to do with training (lengthening and shortening the muscle.) Through EMS you can reach greater levels of contraction though. It will not matter too much, nor will I be able to tell since I will be using my Compex in addition to my training. So I don't know if it will make a huge difference unless I was willing to take time out of the gym and test just EMS contractions for CBL.
