Anyone had any experiences with the P.H.A.T training protocol by Layne Norton? Was searching around for a new program to coincide with the start of my CBL experience (currently on 4th day of prep phase) and was wondering if this program provides enough volume to make CBL optimal?I did the 1st day, which is a heavy upper body day, and it felt good. I like the idea of getting both strenght/power work and hypertrophy work done in the same week.

Most any program can work.I think PHAT is probably one of the better programs out there for CBL.

Upper/lower or full body goes very well with CBL do to the amount of muscle mass used.Plus it focuses on large, compound movements versus a lot assistance isolation movements.

Just completed the first 2 days of the power phase of the week on this program, upper and lower body, and it seems decent. As Trevor states, plenty of compound movements which enable heavy lifting. Looking forward to the next 3 hypertrophy style days.

Not sure about PHAT.. but some programs that I can tell from experience have helped while on CBL1) 5/3/1 - gained great strength, backloads were beastly but I tended to hold alot of water and was more puffy. I eventually burned out of the program and stalled on the OHP.2) Cube Method- This program itself is legit. Ran it for 1 cycle (9 weeks) and it aided in increasing my total. CBL did will with it to gain size.3) Mountain Dog- This by far gave me the best results. Meadows used to be at Westside Barbell back in the day and he mixes alot of Explosive Compound work with Hypertrophy based exercises. I dropped alot of fat (esp in abdomen) and just felt better overall. This would be my recommendation.
