Anyone seen or used these before? We are getting them at my store soon and was thinking of buying a few to try out. A little bit of protein, antioxidants, and simple sugars (Agaves, Maltodextrin, and Dextrose)Just thinking of buying them for a go to add on to a backload when i want something sweet. Right now I enjoy a Nugo Bar, which is the same basically, but they are Gluten Free, All Natural, and Organic.

Agave is not really an ideal carb source to consume.

Yea I heard its kinda high in fructose. The Agave in the Nugo bars is relatively low. Most of the carbs in the Nugo Bars comes from the Rice & Soy Crisps. But the Accel Recovery has a lot more agave. So Ill probably just leave them for the others! haha

Yea deff going to avoid those, at first glance they looked great though! If they would just use more dextrose adn take the agave out dammit! haha.I also enjoy Pure Organic Bars, which gets nearly all of its Carbohydrate Content from Dates. Dates actually having a larger Glucose:Fructose content than bananas, i figure they are safe.

They can't do that! Agave is healthier because it's low GI!! 😛And dates are almost exactly 50/50 glucose/fructose.. So no better/worse than table sugar.

There ratio of Glucose/Fructose is (1.05_)-and-Bananas are (1.04_) So yes close to 50/50 as are Bananas.

I believe the glucose raises as the banana ages into being more ripe

    It does.

Correct it does. But Fructose rises at equal levels while the Sucrose Level Goes down. The stages of ripening go from Green(Starchy Carb) Yellowing(Sucrose Develops) Yellowing/Spotting(*Sucrose Decreases* as the levels of *Fructose and Glucose Rise*)

If it was me I'd rock some fried plantains. Some coconut or mac nut oil, salt, and nutmeg. Throw it on some rice pudding and you're set.I know we are discussing bars, but still.

<—Non Perfect World. haha The convenience of bars with my busy lifestyle allows me to enjoy a sweet treat every once in a while without getting straight sugar. When I move from alternate sans carbs day Ill probably make an effort to pre bake some Dextrose Cookies or something. But even the little bit of Fructose I might be getting from the Dates or the Little Amount of Agave in the Nugo's I have, should effect me much being that my liver will probably hold most of it due to the cycle I'm on right now.

This is true, unless you are backloading back to back and doing it on an off day, you will be fine. Also, a mixture of fructose and glucose can actually enhance glycogen resynthesis.
