Iron3KeymasterHello all,So although I've read practically everything about CBL (except, of course, the book - can't aford it yet :-/), I still have a fairly basic question I haven't been able to figure out exactly.According to my understanding after training you want to carb load to get an immediate insulin spike while also avoiding protein and fat because it slows the process down. However, you're also supposed to take protein (protein shake [Blend H]) immediately post training as well.So which comes first? What am I missing??Thank you!

IOWA.PharmDMemberThey go together. Blend H (or whey isolate) and 30-50 g (assuming normality) of dextrose/rilose/maltodextrin. That should help.

Assuming "normal male", not "normality".Â đŸ™‚

No worries...It's more about double-checking your assumptions, making sure you're not implicitly setting a standard of "normal" that categorically leaves wide swaths of the population out of the picture.I'd like to maintain a record of radical inclusivity on this forum, as to me it feels far more Excellent than the alternative.

So if you take the post w/o shake first, then how long do you wait until you can do the usual carb-backload carb feast (assuming that lifting is done late in the afternoon as recommended)? Thanks!

BronxMemberI didn't want to start a new thread and this fits into what I want to ask.Post workout.Protein and what type of carb (don't have access to dextrose etc...at the moment).Which carb is acceptable here. And if I don't want to have the carb right away is this okay?Trying to cut down a bit so what is the best way here. Thanks

+1I usually have 1-2 bananas and normal whey, not isolate. Didn't hurt me so far, but I may change my next order to Isolate.

Why?If it's not a sticky, it's not good enough for you? There are 100s of threads about shakes, do a search and you will find.
