Richard SchmittModeratorKiefer mentioned how their quality of protein for his Blends have become horrible. Best stick to using whey isolate, (possibly hydro casein if you want), leucine and creatine from True Nutrition.

Chris KotelesGuestHuh, must have missed the update that PF was no longer cutting it. Thanks, Big Tex.

Chris KotelesGuestAlright, here's what I've constructed over at TrueNutrition. Am open to all suggestions. I have creatine that I'll add to this blend when I consume it.55%: WPI-CFM20%: PeptoPro (Hydrolyzed Caseinate)15%: Hydrolyzed Whey Protein (Super Grade)10%: Leucine PeptidesSo for a 30g serving this will give me 3g leucine which seems to be the recommended minimum. With my plan of 1-2 scoops PWO this should be the perfect amount of leucine. My only concern is there is no intact casein in here but I'm always eating dinner within an hour after my workout so I'll be consuming a good amount of protein in that meal which will be slow digesting and, in my mind, make up for the lack casein in my shake. Also, I don't know the different effects hydrolyzed casein has versus hydrolyzed caseinate, but Kiefer used PeptoPro in the Protein Factory blend so it made sense to use it here. Any info on the differences would be great. This comes out to ~$18/lb. And I'm really not too concerned with cost; I don't want to be paying $30+/lb but if it's already around $20/lb then I'm not worried about shaving off a couple bucks if it negatively impacts the effectiveness of the blend.Appreciate any feedback.Edit:One other question. I believe I understand the high level purpose of consuming leucine because it's a potentiator. So does it matter that I'm consuming it with my protein blend? Is it more optimal to buy leucine separate and take it before the PWO protein?

No.. The protein will have a tendency to spike insulin, and having leucine with it should give that insulin spike a boost; which is what we want.

I'm trying to find more information on this and can't come up with anything. Not sure if Kiefer published anything on it or if it was mentioned somewhere but I'd really like to track down a source. Does anyone have a link to where the quality of PF was discussed?

It was a long time ago on Facebook. And it wasn't even their over all quality, just the DH blends he mentioned.

Richard SchmittModeratorYeah PF stuff is good no doubt about it, like Trevor said, it was just those Blends. Not a big deal.
