So looking at the most recent articles this is what the update seems to be on the blends…Kiefer: Correct. You can’t use it (Blend D) at every meal because it raises insulin. You could still use it in the evening meals; it would be an excellent addition. [But not in the early part of the day.]Kiefer: If I had to make it quick and simple, I’d go with whey isolate and leucine. Creatine too. That’s dirt cheap. Then I read on the boards that, blend H for post workout but add micellar casein, so it should be40% Whey isolate20% Millcellar Casein15% Hydrolyzed 150020% Pepto Pro5% Hydrolyzed 520or to make it cheaper...40% Whey isolate40% Hydrolyzed 52020% Caseinor get a  60/40 mix of hydrolyzed 520/casein and get the whey seperate adding 20gs to the 60/40 mix, or  to cut costs even more just whey iso, leucine and creatine.  Blend D is the same but only useful with carb meals post work out, if I so choose it...is that right?I know Tex commented on some of these and was wondering what you tried and what works best and what would save me money, also, I'm readying Truenutrition.com is a better way to go than Protein  Factory these days? Sorry for all the questions but if I'm gonna do it I wanna do it right especially for what it'll cost,Thanks guys!PS I'm backloading right now and doing PHAT training as well as pro wrestling training a few days a week, was apprehensive to go CN with wrestling too.  I have gained 12lbs in about 1-3 months and very little if any fat, didn't get that tested yet, very impressed so far!

Oh and I got Allmax Leucine on the way, which seemed the cheapest way to go and some cheap monohydrate and dextrose, may try rilose

What you have done is fine to use and try out the. I wouldn't worry about using the different Blends as a reference point. Just using the percentages from Blend H, or go cheaper by getting WPI, Leucine and Creatine. You can get a casein on the side if you truly want to

Sorry Tex he wording of your response confused me a bit, are you saying just try out either the new blend H percentages or just the whey, leucine, creatine mix is good enough?I don't react well to pure casiene, I felt awful when I used to take it at night so if not using it won't cost me too much benefit, that doesn't bother me one bit, seems like whey iso, leucine creatine will do just fine then eh?

Great, my pocket book thanks you! What whey iso do you go with? I've got all the other stuff, I was doing Jay Robb for awhile but seems like there's gotta be cheaper pure stuff out there

Tex, is Dymatize's ISO 100 the excatly same as "regular" hydrolysed whey? Or is it some kind of blend with regular whey and hydro whey?,I'm thinking about getting Dynatize iso 100, and use it in my shake when i do my backload - with some lecuine and creatine of course. Or is it better to get some real hydrolysed whey? http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/hydrolysed-whey-protein/10529805.htmlDymatize's is just a bit cheaper for me 🙂

ISO 100 is hyrdolyzed whey yes, I'd also get the Elite Whey Isolate if funds permit. You can save the ISO 100 for a PWO Shake and use the Elite Whey for the AM Shake and to add on to the PWO Shake like I do

Thanks for the quick reply 🙂As normal WPI i got Bulkpowders 90%:http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/shop-by-category/protein-supplements/whey-protein/whey-protein-isolate-90-instantised.htmlSame price as Dymatize Elite Whey Iso but with more protein and less fat and carbs per serving, so thats why i use that 🙂Normally i have used WPI in the morning shake and regular concentrate whey 80 (82)% pwohttp://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/shop-by-category/protein-supplements/whey-protein/whey-protein-concentrate-82-instantised.htmlBut within the end of this week i will ran out of concentrate whey and i will try to use the blend Kiefer subscribe in his Protein 2.0 article (same as topic starter)My normally PWO shake:30 % whey 8030 % Cassein (http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/calcium-caseinate.html)40 % Carbs Dextrose (only on CN days - twice a week)5 g leucine5 g creatine.200 mg caffeine.i'm thinking about make this one:I'm living in Europa so i dont have acces to buy from Proteinfactery etc. - or actuallyi do, but then i have to pay taxes and so on.40 % WPI40 % Hydro whey*20 % Cassein ( or maybe hydro cassen? like peptopro ? )And of course the usuallCarbs Dextrose (only on CN days - twice a week)5 g leucine5 g creatine.200 mg caffeine. ** like Dymatize or Myprotein's:http://www.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/hydrolysed-whey-protein/10529805.htmlThe cost exatly the same but dymatize dont have any carbs and more protein per serving, so that most be the winner?Sorry if some of the question is kinda of stupid - but i'm very curious :p

I feel like the shake formulas are so complex and after getting modified, there are no stupid questions 🙂

You can just buy basic whey isolate and BCAAs if it's a problem for you to get hydrolyse or leucine. That wouldn't be the end of the world. Creatine is fab though.

getting the blends isn't an issue, it's a question of is it worth the money and is this the best way to do it

It's not a problem to get the thing, the question is - also what Gypsiking says - is it worth the money and how should i blend it? 🙂

The OP refers to a revised protein 2.0. I couldn't find anything from Kiefer after his 2.0 article where he outlines the PWO shake as containing the following (Exactly as found in the Blend H from Protein Factory):45% Ultra Amino 97 Whey Isolate20% Hyrdolyzed 1400 5% Hydrolyzed 52030% PeptoProDid he publish an update to this? From the OP it looks like the main difference in his blend is less PeptoPro (hydrolyzed casein) and the addition of micellar casein. Is there any specific reason besides cost to modify the Blend H from Protein Factory? Right now my PWO shake is Blend H plus creatine. Links to any updates to Protein 2.0 would be appreciated. Thanks,Chris
