Is there anything…such as a fat, enzymes ect that should be taken to help protein be better absorbed by the body?  I understand that after a workout there should be no fat taken, just the PWO shake?  I have been told that the body can only absorb so much protein at one time…..thoughts?

BCAAs help greatly in absorbing proteins. Keifer once mentioned it in a video about taking BCAAs mid workout. If you want to talk about having a fast rate of protein absorption, whey protein is very very fast, so fast that you'd see a spike in your insulin levels. In my opinion, I think the limitation of how much protein you use depends on how healthy your liver is and how much muscle mass you have. To be on the safe side, you can figure out how much protein you need by taking your body weight and times it by 1.5%. So if you're 175lbs you take 175x1.5= 262grams. That is, if you want to bulk up. If you want to lose fat or change your body composition to be more lean, then 175g or less is fine.

1.5x per lb of bodyweight is way to much imho for anyone even people trying to put on weight.. i'd stick closer to 1g per lb at most for those trying to grow muscle for those trying to lose i'd stick closer to .5g per lb of bodyweightyou want to maximize protein absorption don't eat massive amounts of it.. the body becomes very wasteful when it has a large overabundance of something for decent periods of time.. you take in massive amounts of protein in day after day the body will start wasting more and more protein..

Don't eat anymore than 20g of protein within 4 hours, otherwise you will piss the excess out. :3

i wouldn't say that.. the studies i have read showed while 20g of whey was all you needed to get max stimulation of protein synthesis it does show 40g pwo has benefits as well.. all the studies I have seen like the ones Norton Layne did were mostly just to see how much protein would stimulate protein synthesis the best and how often but not exactly how much your body could utilize overall

Nah man, any more than 20g and you just piss it out. Some guy at the gym told me a while ago, he has pretty big arms so I believe him.

Well 1.5x I don't think would be disasterous, any more protein added to the body will just be converted to energy. Maybe 1g per 1lb is sufficient enough. Here's an interesting article suggesting that the optimal is .82g per lb.http://bayesianbodybuilding.com/the-myth-of-1glb-optimal-protein-intake-for-bodybuilders/

yea read that one which would leave the 1g per lb a probable "safe" high threshold.. imho 1.5x is way to much, like said above if the body gets to much of something it goes into sort of a panic and tries to rid it as fast as possible without really using any.. think water for example.. you drink a ton of water it will basically pass right through you in no time as the body tries to get rid of it. Some studies have shown the body will do the same with any substance it ingests in abundance. So you are not really playing it "safe" by going super high protein you could actually be causing adverse effects.

I know I used to consume about 1.75 g/lb of protein.  It actually caused me a lot of digestive problems.  However about of third of that protein intake came from cheap whey protein, so that might be why.

I thought that you wanted to have .8 : 1 ratio of fats to protein based off of Goal Weight. Especially if you were working out at all. IE my goal weight is 195 therefore 156g Fats and 195g of protien per day and that is what makes my caloric intake of 2184 kcal. [ (156 * 9) + (195 * 4) ]?

There is no set ratio of fat to protein.  You have to find what works for you.

Exactly, if you want to start anywhere start 50 50 and go from there. Are you already keto adapted?
