CBachelor17MemberWhich protein from there are you asking about? V-Core?

CBachelor17MemberNvm i see your talking about Annex. Thats really not a good protein blend at all. Its mainly Whey Concentrate… There is some Whey Hydro, and the only Casein is Micellar which is a slow digesting form..So in short your better mixing your own than buying this blend. Its pretty low quality IMO

rgil24012GuestThanks for feedback. Having hard time finding casein intact and hydrolysates.

many experiments have been done with various proteins which has shown really there is little to no difference in most cases in terms of WPC vs WI or any other whey(unless you are talking supplement company sponsered ones which in that case of course show the more expensive wheys more effective).. main thing is the actual quality of the whey itself(and if it even meets label claims) which pretty much comes down to the source of supply.. hydro can have its uses but imho isn't worth the extra expense

CBachelor17MemberI really don't want to get to discussing and/or arguing the facts behind that. But being my field of work is Sports Nutrition, and my Major is Exercise Science, I will say that I would never suggest a Whey Concentrate to anyone, spending the extra $5-10 in most cases is certainly worth the money. Especially that mix of protein, its really just a poor mix.

GnomerParticipantwpc is the least processed form of whey.. it does have higher lactose content and slightly less protein per gram though.. but overall i try to go with foods with as little processing as possible and wpc has been shown to have more bioactive and health promoting substances in it(such as alpha-lactalbumin and lactoferrins which is generally removed when processed to WPI).. ideally for me i'd just skip the powders and go whole foods but imho powders have their place in being very convienent.. as for completenutrition.com and the protein OP asked about I never heard of the company personally so can't comment..

CBachelor17MemberI dont believe that the company is the problem. Its the content of the mix that I find less than optimal. As far as processed proteins, by nature every protein powder is processed. In the case of using it as a meal replacement. Concentrate is ok, but your still not going to get the full content, simply because your body is going to digest it before its absorbed and used. In the case we have here, where you want the protein to be absorbed quickly, and used in full by your body, Hydrolyzed AND/or Isolated Whey Protein is Optimum. Taking a PWO shake (especially on this diet) with slow digesting proteins (in this case the main ingredient is the slowest digesting form of whey + mixed in micellar casein-which is most commonly used as a "before bed" protein because of its slow digestion rate) is just not optimum. Even in a backloading situation where your going to be eating whole food protein afterwards, the goal of your shake is to get the protein to your body, and now. Concentrate just does not do that as well.
