BeefsticksKeymasterSo, I've read that having diarrhea as a symptom of protein powder results in not absorbing most/all of the protein…. however, I am confused with my situation, since my symptoms are mild yet I see evidence of the protein being absorbed into my system. So here's my cycle:I used to have 1-2 scoops daily with zero issues back when I used to work out. This was 2-3 years ago. 4 weeks ago I started to work out again. I was having muscle lock ups for 2-3 days after each workout taking 1 scoop after each workout. 2 weeks ago, I started taking 3 scoops a day (1 scoop morning, afternoon, night) and my muscle pain from working out is gone by the next day, no locking up, and they are only slightly sore while repairing. They are repairing much faster. However, I've started getting diarrhea 6-8 hours after taking each said scoop. I have no cramps, pain, bloating, and I am drinking plenty of water so I am %100 positive I am not dehydrated. All I get is the diarrhea and some gas, but I still never feel cramps or bloating from that. Sometimes I take protease+lactase or bromelain combos to break down the shake even faster. Do you guys think maybe it is liquid because its just broken down extremely quickly/well? I see that I am getting protein benefits, but I'm not sure what all this other crap is about. (pun intended) Maybe its condensing the time it would normally take to digest - which requires the same amount of water but more in a shorter time period and I need to adjust.Do you guys think I should continue to take it until my body adjusts or might I have a problem? The protein I have been taking is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey. I understand it has Splenda (sucralose) which I do not want in my diet long term, and am switching to a %100 unadulterated whey product after this bag. (NOW protein - unflavored. Purest I could find for a decent price)

Lindsay LyonParticipantToo much protein and not enough fat in your diet. Eat some fattier cuts of meat. For confirmation look up Vilhjalmur Stefannson. Read his study. I had the same issues but now i am fine.
