audii7KeymasterHey guysI've seen on here that you're supposed to have a 1:1 protein/fat ratio and just wanted to know; Is that in calories or grams? Thanks so much

Brandon D ChristParticipantThat is by grams. It turns out to be about 70% fat and 30% protein by calories.

bigguyskyMemberSo CNS is like the “anabolic diet”? As far as fat being higher than protein? And im guessing saturated fat and cholesterol are still promoted along with other fats?

bigguyskyMemberAlso, you skip breakfast on CNS?

Yes. Aim to get most of your fat from animal sources.Meats, eggs, and butter with coconut oil being nearly the only plant source.
Also, you skip breakfast on CNS?
It's not needed, but it's beneficial

bigguyskyMemberok that helps, sounds identical to the anabolic diet with a shorter carb load, ive had good success with the AB. Yeah my dies is all red meat, pork and beef, eggs, cheese, oils, creams. Seems like keifer is big on whey protein, even on CNS?

Kiefer used the AD way back when, it was kind of what put him on the track the let to CNS.He is a big fan of whey, but only PWO.It's discussed in the book, but the current recommendation is to only use it PWO then wait 60-120 minutes before a fat/protein meal.

bigguyskyMemberyeah it sounded like he was a big fan on whey all the time, but i guess not with CNS. Why are people saying you need a 1:1 ratio of fat/protein for CNS. That cant be right.

Both diets are actually based on the CKD (cyclical ketogenic diet). As for the fat, here is a cool infochart about which fats to use for what and which to avoid.
