TCBParticipantSo I had an unexpected day off today so I was doing some re-reading and in the PWO section, the book says:
there may be benefit to waiting up to 30 minutes after training to ingest the post-workout shake.
My question is simply; why? There, unfortunately, aren't any citations in the book for it and I'm just obnoxiously curious. I pretty much follow that guideline, but that still doesn't stop me from wondering why this is? Anyone seen any information on it?

GH levels increase for 30-60 minutes PWO providing you don't spike insulin levels.

I simply cannot chance that.... i mean casein hydrosylates and branch dextrin post workout were meant to be sucked up immediately... i couldn't just delay for no reason

That's about the boat I'm in, also..

breenhouseMemberI'd more or less just do what fits best in your routine. This is a minor tweak. In real terms it will not make a noticeable difference.Big R, nice back. Looking thick, solid, tight. The whole business of getting that PWO shake 2.5 seconds after your final set has been disproven. 3 minutes PWO, 30 minutes PWO, won't make a difference.

CBachelor17MemberAfter my lift I go straight to working abs and obliques. Usually around 20-30 minutes I think of that as my wait time. Not to mention chugging a PWO Shake then doing cable crunches and Oblique Curls isnt easy haha

Thanks.Remember science isn't always right and is far behind progress made in the trenches. Also i have to space my evening meals out for absorption reasons because i do better that way so i have to have that protein quick.

breenhouseMemberYeah that's totally fine. In saying all of that I do the exact same as you. For you and me it seems that's what works best with the routine.
