John LaPlaca JrMemberGood morning all,I am competing in a powerlifting meet this upcoming Saturday and my plan is to have my CN on Friday for the meet Saturday morning. I am also planning on eatings carbs through out the day and evening for recovery purposes. I am going back to ULC from Sunday and I want to resume weight training on the following Saturday. Is 6 days ULC going into CBL going to be enough even with just one day of eating carbs? I can do HIIT or other activiities mid week to make sure I am depleted. Thanks in advance.

You'll be fine. Personally I am back in the gym, backloading and all, two or three days after the meet. I also have a CN the night before the meet and I eat carbs all day meet day.

Great. Thank you for the info. How many meals in the morning do you have before the meet? Meet starts @10:30 and I keep finding conflicting info on what to do. I've read eat 2 meals prior if possible, but I also read you don't want to have a full stomach before the squat. I am getting up @5:00am and I was thinking of breakfest before I leave(5:30am) and eat one more meal once I am at the meet(7:30-8:30) and go from there.

I like to eat breakfast two hours before I lift. Eggs and hashbrowns is what I recommend. I think two breakfasts are unnecessary if you have a Carb Nite. If you are going to be up at 5 AM anyways then I guess eating two breakfasts is fine, but don't wake up early just to eat breakfast.

The meet is almost 2 hours away so, maybe i'll have BP Coffee when I wake up, find a diner near by @7:30 or so and have the eggs and hashbrowns.
