bigguyskyMemberSo with taking in creatine is it a good idea to have small amounts all day or do you need to do 5G doses each time? Like at the beginning of the day i fill up my gallon jug of water, putting some mineral drops and orinthine and sip it all day. Would it be a good idea to put like 20G of creatine in the gallon and sip on it? I still take creatine pre and post workout as well.

I would take an individual 5g dose with each meal. I believe creatine loses potency if it's mixed and sits too long.

bioengineerGuestI can't remember where I saw it but there was some sort of study looking at what happened to creatine relative to time while in water….not sure if my brain is making that up but it may be out there. A lot of guys swear by putting it on a teaspoon and downing it

RookieMemberJust put it in small zip bags and rub it on your gums while everyone is watching to be hardcore!!! Lol j/k :pOr mix it and down it the conventional way 🙂

JakeMemberCreatine is fine in water. Just think about the pH of your stomach acid that it has to go through.

No actually it converts to creatinine in water. This does take a while (about 24 hours) to reach equilibrium, but it does occur. It does happen in your stomach as well. Actually in order to have the lowest conversion to creatinine, it is advisable to consume creatine on an empty stomach, when your stomach is less acidic. However, consuming creatine with meals increases retention in muscles. So it really doesn't matter.

Yeah I'm aware but most people don't let creatine sit for 24 hours in water.

PhattyMemberI find snorting a 5g line of creatine with my PWO shake works best.Jokes. I've not started taking it just yet. I was wondering how well it mixes in with whey and water? I've heard it sinks to the bottom of the mix and tastes gritty.

How does it sink? Shake the hell out of it and then skull it...

Go HeavyParticipantIt mixes better in warm water. I put a 6oz cup in the microwave for 30 seconds, mix it and drink it straight or with a little instant coffee. Sometimes I'll mix it in with an accelerator shake as well.

Tiago NicolauParticipantIs it a good ideia do put creatine in worm water?wont it provoque a faster reaction to the creatinine process?i usually take it with water, 5g at a time, normally when i take my CBL, or with the A.M Shake in the ULC day.

Richard SchmittModeratorWarm water wouldn't hurt, might help it mix better.
February 18, 2013 at 4:16 pm #141205
Tiago NicolauParticipantIt does, and i have read in here, but i cant remember what was the right thread, that creatine gets absorved better if already dissolved in water,Since there inst any way of knowing it without proper measure equippement, i will try to drink it with warm water then 🙂
