PhilipKeymasterHi I've got the Carb-Backloading Book. For days when I am free to do this diet perfectly:- After I've taken 10g Whey Protein / MTC Oil in morning (9am-1pm)- I normally just eat meat and cook Frozen Vegetables (Broccoli/Cauliflower/Carrots) with Olive oil on top (around 1pm - 5pm) I've read the label and the vegetables say that practically every Carb is Fibrous. However I remember I have watched a number of videos of people arguing Carrots (and Peas..) are highly glycemic.Hence my question is simple - Would the glycemic load of the whole meal counter any insulin spiking effects (if any..... ) , or am I best of ditching the carrots completely?

maxwkwMemberIt's probably best to ditch the carrots but if you're making progress. Don't change.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorAgreed on both counts.Just know that carrots do become more starchy from cooking at going over the carb limit could be come easy.

There is a carb limit?

Igor VidovicParticipantYou want to stay under 30g usable carbs prior to your workout or if you're not training stay under 30g for the whole day

Igor VidovicParticipantPhilip- usually rule of thumb on root vegetables is they're high in sugar and best to stay away from if possible.

Ah perfect thank you.Means I might just have to stick to boring Broccoli and Cauliflower btw themselves for the first portion of the day - well as long as it gets me closer to the end result.......
