From the newest FLEX (March 2013), page 116 (US Edition)…In this month's European Journal of Nutrition, researchers found that consuming MCT oil w/ chili (think Capsaicin supplement) raises thermogenesis by more than 50%!They tested against other combinations like sunflower oil w/ bell pepper, sunflower oil w/ chili, and MCT oil w/ bell pepper.  The MCT oil / chili combination took the prize!Volunteers were fed a breakfast containing these combinations.Cory

This would be great to add chili peppers with MCT oil to cooking eggs. I wonder if having coconut oil will have the same affect

I would imagine so, being coconut oil is an MCT.The way I see it, cook your food in coconut oil (or ingest some with a meal), and supp a good Capsaicin supp at said meal.  Thus, reap the benefits of this study.Cory

Cory,What brand of supp do you use that contain that kind of capcaicin? Here in Sweden I'm having w hard time finding capsaicin-supps, and the ones that exist contain a bunch of other ingredients which render the capsaicin-content quite low. Also, any clue on what "3% capsaicin concentration" could mean?Maybe I'm just better off chewing on granulated chili or spice my tea with cayennepowder? And ofcource combining it with mct oil.

A lot of brands contain 40,000 HU (and higher).  Perhaps it is just an issue of your location (and availability).  I am not sure what 3% capsaicin concentration means. You might just try using chilis or chili oil w/ MCT oil in a meal.  The article simply discussed the chili + MCT combination, not necessarily Capsaicin.Cory
