CBachelor17MemberThanks TCB. I should have been more specific for sure.CFU's (Colony Forming Units). If theres not enough there it simply wont work. Buying a $5 bottle of 1CFU Tablets and only taking one wont cut it. Per- my previous post you would need to take 50-100 tablets if you were using them only on CN, or 25 Daily haha. So go with the ones that will make a difference!

But! Just to be argumentative.. I've been hearing a lot from guys like Chris Kresser, that it's being shown that PRE-biotics have a much more drastic effect on gut flora than PRO-biotics do.. Something to think about!

CBachelor17MemberIsn't that the same guy thats making up functions in the body on his podcasts? Like changing the chemical structure of Glucose and for converting it to fructose? Rather than initiating ATP production and taking it through glycolysis like its actually doing? Lol thats something to think about. Consider the source.

CBachelor17MemberStill though, come on TCB, even suggesting something that was just mentioned by a “.com” doctor… Im just saying being mindful of people that are out there that will skim an article "or blog," and implement the sentence they found into their regiment. Pro-Biotics are a proven effective way to help with digestion. Why even bring a pre-biotic up? lol

He was a practitioner long before having a website, and his actual practice has been closed to new patients because he has such a drastic call for his services. He isn't a "Dr. Oz" type of guy at all. Which I can say with certainty, having met him. He's pretty well recognized as one of the best researchers in the whole "paleo" world. His voice sounds like a stoned surfer though, and that makes me laugh. I'm not disputing the fact that probiotics are beneficial and effective. Only saying that it is being said that as we come to understand the microbiome more and more (which we barely do at all right now), it is looking like prebiotics are having a better effect on creating a healthy gut profile than probiotics are. This could be due to the fact that when you take a probiotic supplement, you're ingesting bacteria that should be live, but a good portion of those bacteria don't stick around inside you, they just pass right through you. But I don't know. That makes a good reason to choose a higher CFU, as you said, though, to help make up for the amount that aren't assimilated. I just don't think either should be ignored. After all, probiotics wouldn't live without food for them (prebiotics; of which soluble fiber could be considered one)I personally take a soil-based organism product that has a mixture of pre's and pro's.
