I am new to CarbNite and have been following the program for 3 weeks now, but with little visible results.  I am using the recipes in the book, but have found that GNC doesn't make PM Protein anymore and several recipes call for it (pancakes and scones are two).  Does anyone know what is best to use as a replacement and how that will impact the carb count of the recipe?  Also, I thought I read on a post that you shouldn't use psyllium fiber, but the book also has that in some recipes.  Is this correct?  Why shouldn't you use it?  Thanks for any help and guidance!

Thanks for replying and for the link about psyllium.  My day is like this:breakfast: bacon with eggs or protein pancakelunch:  2 low carb tortillas with beef or chicken meat and a little cheese, or baked chicken or leftover meatdinner:  steak or chicken breast, spinach salad or cheeseburger without bunsnacks:  either string cheese or sugar free jello or scone (from recipe in book)I have had two carb nites so far:  first I have a dinner  (one was hamburger and fries, one was steak and mashed potatoes) then later 1 scoop of ice cream, a couple of handfuls of goldfish crackers, and either peanut butter or nutella spread.I am doing weights once or twice a week and that is the only thing that seems to help slightly, but I started at 130.7 and I am only at 128 lbs.  Just seems like others are losing a lot at least at the beginning and I have gone up and down with the same 3 pounds--just like on other diets.

what time is your breakfast? If it's right when you wake up i'd try to prolong that and eat breakfast a few hours after getting up. If you need some energy i'd do some coffee with heavy cream and a tablespoon of coconut oil(i eat it right off the spoon:) ). I personally don't eat breakfast at all anymore and am perfectly fine even with my job as a mechanic i function just fine on just coffee and coconut oil... If i feel i need something before lunch I may have a hardboiled egg or two. Also what sort of tortillas are those low carb tortillas?i'd read this also.. it's about carb backloading but don't see why its principles wouldn't work for CNS as wellhttp://www.schwarzenegger.com/fitness/post/carb-back-loading-step-1-breakfast

I was eating breakfast at 6 am–an hour after getting up each morning.  I will try not eating until closer to lunchtime and see if that helps.  What time do you eat your last meal of the day?The low carb tortillas are made by Mission and are whole wheat carb balance--for the small size there are 3 g of net carbs each  (13 carb and 10 fiber)Carb nite is tonight--did my eating for that seem ok?Thanks for your support.  I really want this to work!

my last meal at night is around 9-10pm. So i make sure not to eat anything aside from my coconut oil till 10am the next morning and usually just have a small snack like an egg since my lunch is at 11:30.  Even those tortilla are low carb they are still whole weat id try to cut out wheat completely during ULC days if you can.. there's some recipies for paleo style tortillas that would be better for you on ULC days like these http://pastatopaleo.blogspot.com/2013/02/paleo-almond-flour-tortillas.htmlyour carb nites seemed fine to me.. just try to keep fructose to a bare minimum and remember sucrose is half fructose
