legion78MemberHelp, Im thinking of recommending CBL to a male and female personal training client that wants muscle and wants to lose fat (traditional goals). Kind of like a guinea pig style…………..I briefly tried it myself and had great results with it, but what has worked for me might not always work for others so that's why I have been hesitant of recommending this type of style to any of my clients. Also I run large group fitness that is mostly women and thinking of giving my most disciplined clients a go with it. Some of them have a hard time sticking to some of the simplest of nutrition targets (like macro-nutrient goals, cheat meal 1 time a week, high GI carbs PWO only, which in itself is frustrating from a trainer's stand-point). So again, Im hesitant of trying it with them because I do not feel that they have a good solid grasp of nutrtion basics............now if I throw CBL or even CNS at them, they might get negative results. That's my main dilemma. I ofcourse want them to get the best possible results while training with me so it's not like Im trying to cut corners, but I want them to get results more efficiently and hassle-free

jsmithMemberI say do it. I actually think CBL is easier to follow than the traditional fitness/body building diet. I guess because i can actually enjoy the food i'm eating and not have to worry about how low gi the carbs im eating are.

legion78Memberthanks man, now my other question is that these clients only trainf with me twice a week. So I am wondering if I should just have them backload on the days they are with me training. Also I know white rice, potatoes, donuts, ice cream, white bread, and pastries are the most recommended carbs. Anythig other sources I should be adding into the carbs

Gl;itch.eMemberThis is a case of “Lead by Example” IMO. You say you “Briefly” tried it. Why did you stop?

legion78MemberHey Glitch, I stopped using CBL switch to CNS……………I wanted more weight loss, faster. I know for a fact that works, but one client is already pretty lean, now if I could put a bit of lean size on him (10-15lbs) or if he is gonna maintain most of the weight he has now, Id like it to be mostly nuscleLou

In that case its probably pretty safe to recommend CBL for his goals. What about the female you mentioned? She's probably better off with CNS like yourself or a modified CNS with carb nights a couple times a week.

FairyGuestI would just get them skipping breakfast and having coffee instead. Simple. Zero will power required. Results guaranteed.

McCartyKGuestI would only suggest it if you feel they have the drive and willpower to do it.Most trainees are just half assing and an excuse to have crap Guilt free may bite you on the ass.If they don't get the results they like your to blame and more often then not they will find someone else and then your rep is trashed. For personal trainers your reputation and the results of your previous clients is all that you have
