pmallen83KeymasterSo I read through the book and just started my reorientation yesterday, and I just want to make sure I'm doing it right before I go through an entire eight more days.So here's what I've eaten for the past two days:BREAKFAST: two eggs fried with butter with two slices of turkey lunchmeat and parmesan cheese on top with a glass of unsweetened almond milk(Lift with minimal cardio warmup)SNACK: About twelve macadamia nuts and an Isopure protien shakeLUNCH: Chicken (maybe 4 to 6 oz.) coated with flaxseed and parmesan cheese with a glass of almond milkSNACK: Two cheese sticks (and a hot dog today cuz I was extra hungry)DINNER: Three medium chicken medallions or a lean ground beef patty cooked with olive oil and a glass of almond milkBEFORE BED: A glass of almond milk and a few macadamia nutsAlso I compulsively snack on peanut butter throughout the day. About two to three tbs. I'm 18, 5'7", and weigh about 153 pounds without that much body fat. I'm just trying to shed off that extra five to eight pounds of jiggle. Thanks for your help!!

CropsyMemberI'm no expert but I would say there's an over-reliance on almond milk here and too many nuts. Also, could you replace your turkey and chicken with fattier choices such as bacon or steak? Even the lean ground beef shouldn't be too lean.I take it the 'hot dog' was just the dog, right? 😀

JudyMetcalfMemberI also am no expert – although I am a bit obsessive about reading these forums 🙂 :Read somewhere on here that nuts, nut butters, etc should be viewed as a condiment more than a staple..I'd cut them out. Switch from almond milk to coconut milk if you HAVE to have the milk to drink, but I'd just skip it and go for water or green tea. I think the goal here is 1:1 fat to protein, so why bother with the lean meats? Beef and bacon should be the staples based on everything I've seen.

pmallen83GuestWhat about the peanut butter? There's about two and a half grams of usable carbs per tablespoon, but it's also really high in fat so does that cancel out the small amount of carbs?

Craig jonesParticipantAnything over 10g protein powder will spike insulin. Need much more fattier meats. Don't bother with plant fats where possible. Nuts are not ideal.

Again, just basing this on what I've read around here, but I think the problem with nut butters is that they are basically plant fats and I believe Keifer recommends losing all plant fats (except Coconut Oil) and sticking with animal fats...if I'm wrong about this, somebody with more knowledge will hopefully correct me 🙂

You are 100% correct. Stick with animal fats and coconut fats. The less plant fats you consume, the better your results and health will be.

Richard SchmittModeratorconsume less fat plants, and more animal fats. If you're eating that every day then yeah I'm sure it will not get you the results you truly want. Like macadamia nuts, I'm sure it's good on occasion. Just a thought.

webbyMemberI find having 3 meals at the times I'm hungry is better than eating and snacking. Split your daily requirement up into 3 meals. So for me I go for 40-50g protein and 50-60g fat for each meal.

I was eating macadamia nuts for a while but they got to be so expensive. So I went back to walnuts and almonds, every night, and altogether it was about an oz. But I'm also wondering if they are giving me stomach bloat after my shoulder surgery in May.I was also eating them before bed!Would having the same amount of fat in coconut butter before bed be OK in it's stead, with 10 gr whey isolate?I'll be cutting out the nuts as a staple fat and using them maybe 1-2x week. as a treat!

Richard SchmittModeratorI guess that would be ok to do.
