Newbie here, but I've been on a quest to slay my brain fog for the past 4 years and have had little success until I listened to Kiefer's podcast about T3 Fuel. However, while I wait for it to arrive, I've been experimenting with just Transresveratrol, and found that it has a positive impact on my brain fog. As far as I can tell, the only reason that it would is because it is a vasodilator, specifically for the brain. Can anyone think of any other reasons that the resveratrol is helping, and furthermore, since this helps, what might be at the root cause? Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question, but I'm curious how much resveratrol you're taking (daily, I assume?).Welcome to the forum btw.

Resveratrol is recommended in Dr. Perlmutter's book, Grain Brain.  It is on his short list of supplements for optimal brain health.  I will look it up soon & get back with you guys.

Add in some Sea kelp (for the iodine) and you have the poor mans version of T3 fuel.

Thanks for the welcome, Mac!I'm taking anywhere from 250mg-750mg in divided doses (that's 1-3 caps per day). I've been doing a lot of research lately on oxidative stress in the brain and how to reduce it, in the case that it is my mitochondria that is messed up.

Resveratrol helps improve AMPK activity, which partially helps production of ketones.

    TheLazyCaveMan,
I don’t know how to answer your question about the cause of your brain fog, but I think you’re onto something about resveratrol helping because it is a vasodilator.

According to http://purevites.com/resveratrol-extra, “Containing the primary ingredient of Resveratrol, the Resveratrol EXTRA Pure Encapsulations can perform an essential function for the flow of oxygen throughout the cardio-system. The flow of oxygen in the blood cells can be increased by the production of white blood cells, or platelets.”

I’ve had the same type of mental fog problems as you for way too long, so I’m very interested to try resveratrol. Thanks for the inspiration!
