optimumhealth7117ParticipantI understand my need to implement reverse dieting into my routine. I have been on a low carb (ketogenic at times) paleo diet for a long time, and unintentionally chronic low cal diet. I initially started Carb Nite in the summer as an experiment and decided after a few weeks to try CBL to support training efforts. I have a history of metabolic damage/hormonal imbalances from years of poor nutrition practices and crazy training regimens. I introduced too many carbs and cals at once instead of the slow steady approach and I have experienced weight gain, blood sugar swings, hormonal issues still persist, and inflammation still. Should I do a 10 day prep phase as a reset and then SLOWLY work up from there? Or is there is a better approach?

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorI recommend doing a google search of Layne Norton reverse dieting.I don't think it has to be as slow as he suggests, but give you will you at idea at least.

Was just gonna say the same thing, but I think it's sohi or sohe lee's book. Though I'm not 100% certain. I was thinking about buying it too, but it's pretty steep for an eBook. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

+1The amounts that Layne talks about doing are so small you'd have to have some seriously precise counting/measuring going on. More precise than is practically feasible for most people that don't have lab access like the good Doctor BioLayne

Rob HaasGuestI have the reverse dieting book but have yet to read it. It's on my list to read in the next few weeks. FWIW the book is actually several books, very detailed from what I've seen so far. My wife has been using the protocol and as far as precise measuring/counting: She had to get a small scale to weigh her food and uses MyFitnessPal to track macros so it's really not all that complicated. Not that any of this does you any good at the moment.

This review is the first I've seen of the book and it might be a early Christmas present to myself. I have a few clients that I'm working with on reverse dieting, but in just free handing it. It would be interesting to see what the book advises. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
