ajhaycockParticipantHi guysI followed the shock wave protocol today, chest and bisIs it normal not to feel any pump whatsoever ....?I followed everything down to the tea and by no means am I a beginner.....I just felt like I didn't get a workout, if that makes sense....

Richard SchmittModeratorIt can happen yes, you have to find the weights that work and able to complete the movement. It's not supposed to be taxing on your body too.

ajhaycockParticipantI guess but I think I got the weights right. I'm used to leaving the gym feeling I've worked out. A bodybuilder once told me if you lose the pump go home. What if you never get it ……I followed the elect and X and U to a tea and I just feel like I shouldn't eat carbs tonight now, if you catch my drift.

Richard SchmittModeratorShockwave as is needs to be modified a bit to meet the needs of CBL. It's great with CNS though. Just a word of warning for you.

ajhaycockParticipantWould I be better off doing a classic bodybuilding workout then which I'm used too? I just added an extra set of incline DB presses and performed elect twice and still felt unfulfilled

Depends on the split. I mean you can make SW work for CBL really well but the backloads would need to be more controlled.

ajhaycockParticipantProbably a 4 day split, chest, legs, back, shoulders and arms. So my baseline carbs are 600gI was aiming for a modest 400gWould this be cut back even more?
October 8, 2012 at 7:39 pm #91985
Richard SchmittModeratorThat's my baseline too and I can never get over 300g. 400g is a reasonable number to try and get.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorHonestly, if you are doing CBL I wouldn't do SW.It can work, but it's not as straight forward as other programs.SW really shines with CNS.

Jack O'NeillMemberTry the Heavy Duty version of Shockwave Protocol. You will see if you're not tired after workout 🙂I personally switch this week from SP to Heavy Duty and it's was terribly difficult !

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorCBL HD is awesome for backloading with.I've done each of the workouts a couple of times and they are intense, I've heard the member Ibobland mention it is one of the best hypertrophy routines he's used.I'll be running it for 8 weeks starting soon.

ajhaycockParticipantThanks guys that sounds promising. Where can I find the HD version?
