I've just been reading a thread where the the general feeling is that Shockwave and CBL don't do so well together.  I started CBL SA a few weeks ago and I've been training using SW.  I'm doing a 2nd prep phase right now partly because of how soft I've looked after those two weeks of using that combo.  I wonder if that's got something to do with it?  I'm going to begin backloading again this coming week, anyone have any suggestions as to what protocol might be more suited to CBL SA?

5/3/1, Starting Strength, 5×5 are good. I'm betting the PHAT Routine is a good one too. I'd want to try that with CBL. I'll find out more about SW with CBL or if there are any tricks to improve it.

I'm actually ditching SW for PHAT starting tomorrow, myself. Certainly wouldn't mind having a PHAT buddy to compare notes with (although you'll undoubtedly have better numbers than I will) 😛

Awesome, I'll have a look at those.

    What makes you say that?

I'll +1 PHAT. Just starting week 5 and have been very impressed so far. Strength is going up every week and it allows for some pretty good backloads.

Is powerlifting the ideal type of training for CBL?

What is PHAT?I do not know about others, but I have had great results with Shockwave Jacked--i.e., CBL SA and SW. I went from 153lbs and 13% BF after CNS to 165 lbs and 12% BF.

Just curious how tall you are?  Your stats sounds similar to mine, but I'm 6', I'm currently 175@ approx 17%, My goal is 175@ 10%, but trying to get down to 170 @15% then do a lean bulk, then do another cut.
