lewkowicz613MemberI have been following CBL and I have definitely noticed an increase in strength but I have been unable to achieve the “shredded” look which Kiefer describes associated with strength accumulation protocol. Any suggestions?I maintain low-carb and only backload after working out. Thanks

Richard SchmittModeratorNot enough data here to give proper suggestions. Body weight, body fat, male/female, age, training split, macros, meals?

Brandon D ChristParticipantWell is your body fat low enough to look shredded? You probably need to adjust your food intake for fat loss or go on Carb Nite.

Brandon D ChristParticipantOk you need to put on muscle. Just keep lifting and it'll come. Make sure you are eating enough.

I agree with ibob, at that height and weight you most likely dinot have enough muscle for the look your after. Also, I know the book recommends the protein shake in the morning but I've had much better success sticking to whole meals in the AM. Whey is pretty good at causing an insulin spike.

lewkowicz613MemberI do notice a weird feeling in the AM after I take the whey even tho I have plenty of fats to attempt to curtail the insulin spike. However, the weird feeling leads me to belive as you are saying that it does spike the insulin. Would egg whites be a better protein option to prevent muscle catabolism?

Brian TimlinParticipantThe book mentions if there is acesulfame-k or acesulfame potassium as a sweetener it can cause an insulin spike. Check to see if it is in your whey.

Which is NOT a problem at all to have in the whey.

Igor VidovicParticipantAgree with everyone here you need to put on more size before you do anything else. I'm 5'10″ 205lb and I'm still trying to add more

Okay, so just a problem in diet drinks? And why not in whey?
