case terrebonneParticipantI am glad to see the kiefer put it all together in a nice scoop form. That should make going to CBL easier to do for me.

KARLITOMemberYes, I've received his email as well, what do you think of waiting an hour post workout?

It makes sense to me. If the research shows that taking in carbs while working out isn't good then why would it make sense to take in carbs immediately after working out.

Scott AueParticipantHere's my question: what does this mean regarding the post-workout carbs that everyone enjoys? If the ideal PWO shake is now viewed as protein spiked with this new powder, then where do the carbs come in? Has this created a scenario where the ideal “diet” is ULC, followed by the above shake followed by ULC?Just my $.02, but I've always had a lot of trouble putting on any significant muscle while ULC. Kiefer has even mentioned this in the past in relation to the Mon. - Fri. ULC set up on the Anabolic Diet and also with IF. Great for fat loss, but not great for putting on size. I don't think many will be that successful with muscle gain if they don't get overall calories (including carbs).I'll never begrudge anyone making a buck, but if you're going to slam some ice cream, white grapes, ripe bananas or other simple carbs PWO anyway, then is this stuff that necessary? Seems like it may be better suited for those who'd like a maximum insulin spike while trying to lean out...

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorThis is to enhance the insulin out put of whatever you use PWO. He actually says you can use it with less the optimal carb sources to make sure you push insulin levels high enough. Also, for some people that can't handle high amounts of carbs (Females) this can help make sure they get insulin levels high enough.

Yea I think the supplement is mostly for people who are limiting their PWO carbs. Nevertheless, if you are focusing on gaining mass it can still be pretty useful.

chalmParticipantMaybe I'm dense…Lifting weights cause your insulin to rise, yes? But IF you're going ULC or on CN, you want to limit your insulin spike yes? Or is a spike ok, so long as you're A)no injecting fats and B) not caused by carbs?Sorry, this whole thing does but doesn't make sense.

No? Where did you get this idea?

Meh, horrible interpretation perhaps?I understand the benefit/need of having your weekly spike during CNS. So the spike is OK even on CN so long as I'm not consuming carbs, then it won't impact CNS in a negative way?

You still want to spike insulin Post workout to turn of the catabolic processes started from training, You'd ideally avoid carbs if on CNS though.Correct

The key is the training. An insulin spike after training is beneficial because it helps with muscle growth and recovery. Overall this will help your body composition more, even if you are stopping fat burning for a short period.

Alexander StewartParticipantSo for CBL you could train, have this new supplement added to your shake then wait one hour and hit the carbs as per?

You take the shake one hour after training. Then you start backloading. Kiefer never really said how long after the shake you can start backloading, but I'd guess 30-45 minutes.

Alexander StewartParticipantOh yeah that's what I meant to write, thanks for clarifying. To be honest the waiting one hour after workout if rather annoying, it means eating very late but c'est la vie, I'm going to try it!

KARLITOMemberI thought AM cortisol burns fat and PM cortisol burns muscles. I think this product is great for CN.
