gabbieunderhillKeymasterNewbie here and I don't know what I'm doing with Whey isolate except I should be taking it post work out while on Carb Nite Solution. I've been extremely strict about my carbs, I'm on day 4 and I don't want to screw up now. Especially since I'm already feeling extremely even, lighter and SO energetic!Any words of wisdom?

Drink 25 grams of it after your workout with 5 g of Luecine. Mix it with water. Be forewarned, it doesn't taste good.

On CNS, protein powders could only really be of good-use Post-workout or if you wanted to incorporate them in your carb night you could do that also, just don't substitute fatty beef/meats for isolate powder during ULC meals, as powders can potentially spike insulin significantly.

gabbieunderhillGuestAwesome. So post workout. The book suggests waiting 1/2 hour before drinking it PWO so I'll do that. The Whey Isolate I bought is not a concentrate however after the main ingredient of Whey Isolate there is a blend in it of the casetin and a few other things. I hope I didn't screw up and buy the wrong thing. I was planning on mixing it with coffee and heavy cream.

I'd drink it within 30 minutes PWO. That is a good window to consume PWO nutrition. Literally, I finish with weights, go to wash my hands at the sink, and then sit to drink my shake(s).25-50g of protein (1-2 scoops), 5g of leucine (or 10g BCAAs) and 5-10g creatine.Cory

I usually drink mine about 15 minutes PWO. However, Kiefer says it may be benficial to wait until the 30 minute mark to do so, I don't know what the reasoning is but he still says that.

Slight increase in GH.He said short term it wont matter but after 10 years of training who knows.I just drink it when I get home from the gym, 15-20 minutes normally.

Ok that makes sense, however I have read a study that states a single quick insulin spike will enhance GH release after exercise, so I would think on Carb Nite when you are doing a hydrolysate/leucine shake PWO it may be better to do it immediately.

webbyMemberDoesn't waiting 30mins+ give your body time to clear the ffa's released from working out? I'm sure I heard him say something like that a while back.

Oh really? I never heard him say that, I suppose it's possible.
