Very interesting stuff guys thanks for the responses. @Tigerite: what I gathered from that was to avoid vegetable oils and simple sugars/carbs to reduce the risk of heart disease, and that cholesterol and sat fats aren't the main culprits. That got me to thinking about my backloads though: they're loaded with simple sugars and carbs out of necessity for the insulin spike (dextrose  rice, etc.). So while the high amounts of fat and cholesterol won't do me in per say, what about eating that high of an intake in conjunction with the simple carbs in the backloads on a daily basis? I feel like that's a dangerous combo, unless exercise somehow limits the inflammatory action of simple carbs...@phxplay: very interesting,  I'd love to see the new results! I want bloodwork of my own done soon, I'm well overdue.@Gnomer: haven't heard of that book but ill look into it!

If I remember to I'll come back to this post and update  ;DI also have LOTS of sugar in my CNs which I do twice weekly and everything was great on my test. I do think this larger panel will provide a lot more insight especially since it's been so much longer that I've been on the protocols.

Haha yeah it is a ton, I can afford to cut a half cup out most likely.I wasn't necessarily suggesting cutting any out! I was just saying holy crap that's a lot of rice to eat! I don't think I could do it, ha. Not sure my stomach would allow such hijinxI'm still hung up on the cholesterol thing though... I know you guys are saying dietary has no effect on serum, but with my setup I'm going to be taking in an ungodly amount every day 185 mg per egg x 12 = 2220 mg15 mg per serving of bacon x 10 = 150 mgThat's 2370 mg EVERY DAY and the RDA is 300 mg if I'm not mistaken. Something just tells me that that's not okay...Keep in mind the RDA is set by an "organization" that tells us cholesterol is a bad thing, that it's perfectly fine to have so many bug/animal parts in our foods, that we need to eat 12 servings of whole grains a day, that the reason the world is obese is because we all just eat too much, etc etc etc. Dietary cholesterol does not equal elevated cholesterol in you. Not only that, but cholesterol is viewed as this evil being, when in actuality, it's an EXTREMELY helpful and beneficial material. Having "high cholesterol" is PURELY a symptom of some other problem in the body, likely some form of excess inflammation.

If it makes you feel better I've eaten 12 eggs, and 1-2 lbs of shrimp cooked in butter everyday for long periods of time. I've easily has times where I will take it well over 2g of total cholesterol a day.

Dietary intake of cholesterol has virtually nothing to do with the serum cholesterol in your blood. That is a myth that has been perpetrated for so long most folks believe it. Serum cholesterol has virtually everything to do with your how much your liver creates.http://www.amazon.com/The-Great-Cholesterol-Myth-Disease/dp/1592335217

Wow guys, this is all incredibly helpful, thank you!@TCB: Not gunna lie, it's a challenge sometimes! Lol I may play with the amount for that very reason, it's chore to put away that much rice.Yeah that's true, Big Brother doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to making recommendations (especially regarding diet). I have a whole new outlook on cholesterol and saturated fats after considering all of this information, I'm really glad I made this thread otherwise I would've stayed in the dark on all this.@Sanosuke: I'll definitely give that a look over later, thank you!@Trevor: To know that you're still around to type that out makes me feel a lot better! Lol@Tracy: You're the second to recommend that book to me, that's definitely going to be something I buy soon. My understanding has been changed by this thread but I feel like that book would really round out my understanding.

Also, I recently I got my Cholesterol checked for free with donating blood, so while it wasn't an indepth check, my levels were 160mg/dl, which is well below "normal"

I backload everyday, but I also train every day unless I just really feel dead. In fact I train twice a day 90% of the time.

^Damn son! You're lucky, with this back injury I have I'll be out of the gym indefinitely… But I'm super jelly of your 2x a day training schedule.I can still use all of this cholesterol info on Carb Nite though, I intend to use that program in the meantime and just get ripped to shreds while I'm out of the gym.
