keysparamedicMemberHey all,Did a search, could not find anything specific dealing with this...I mixed up some of the supplement "cocktails" that Keifer recommends in CBL, specifically the AM accelerator, the pre workout ignition and post workout mixes.Problem is, I get a terrible stomach ache from any/all of these when I take them. I have tried mixing with water, then with almond milk... the almond milk makes it a little better but still gives me a terrible stomach ache. (Nausea/gas and indigestion like pain).I am guessing this is from the caffeine - (of course i already mixed the powders so I have a huge quantity of the mixes...with the caffeine in them).Any ideas as to how to neutralize the gas/indigestion? Tums/gas-x/pepto don't seem to work. I am not sensitive at all to caffeine when just drinking coffee... even huge quantities of coffee... so maybe it is something else....Any speculation or suggestions would be appreciated.ThanksSteven

Richard SchmittModeratorI bet that it is the MCT Oil that is causing you problems, and possibly the whey.

keysparamedicMemberI had not considered the MCT as a problem…. interesting point…I was assuming it was the caffeine but now….. hmmmmmmI'll have to do some experimenting with that.If it is, any ideas on how to counter the discomfort (short of d/c'g the use of it?)thanks for the help!

Richard SchmittModeratorWork up to the dosages. Might have to start with 1-2 tsp till you get to 10g

keysparamedicMemberThanks Big Tex…Also, I had not considered the whey to be a problem since I never have really had issues with it, HOWEVER, in thinking about it I am using a new brand of whey..... and that just might be it.I'm going to try making the shake with a different whey and see if that makes a difference..... If not, then I'll knock the MCT dosage down like you suggest and try that instead. Thanks again, I'll post when I figure something out.......

keysparamedicMemberWell guys,After a few days of experimentation, I have concluded that is is (mainly) the whey protein.I switched to a different brand, and never gave a second thought to whey being a problem, since whey never has been before. It seems that in the last few months of my poor diet and nutrition, I have slipped back to a hypochloridic state. I had that issue a long time ago, but remedied it with a good Paleo diet and a LOT of betaine HCL. It seems that the whey is somewhat hard to digest without any stomach acid....So, I am able to relieve most of the discomfort by supplementing the supplement (is that english?!) with a hefty dose of Betaine HCL. there is still a little discomfort, but tolerable - hopefully the benefits of the good supplementation will outweigh the discomfort. Thanks for the input and pointing me in the right direction!
