JessegirlParticipant25% body fat – 140 lbs – 5.7 and on month three of CN. I am not getting anywhere so I am starting the reorientation phase again and trying to really count my macros (which I do admit to be a daunting task). I am losing the same two pounds and gaining the same two pounds. Body hasn’t changed much. My workouts have been sporadic. I need some guidance on what program is best. Should I lift full body 2 days a week or alternate upper and lower? I would like to throw in a good hour walk or two during the week as well? I have not experienced HIIT as of yet. I am thinking of trying to incorporate this the morning after CN at the track (which would be this weekend). I’m a bit frustrated at the moment….but not giving up.
Thanks,

Richard SchmittModeratorDo you mean Strong Curves? Bret Contreas program is very good. If you’re losing weight then gaining, you’re doing something with your nutrition during the week. What does that normally look like? What is your training experience (how long have you been training)? Current goal?

JessegirlParticipantSorry I should have been more clear. Yes, Strong Curves by Bret Contreas. I just don’t seem to be getting anywhere.
My current goal is to definitely mobilize the fat on my body. Upper I am fairly lean…I carry most of my fat in the lower half. I am soft and not as toned as I would like to be.I have five days during the week at work for one hour. I haven’t been consistent at all. I’ll train a day or two then something comes up and I don’t train for 2-3 days. I have been playing around with Shockwave for under a month….then started to wonder about Strong Curves. I am just not sure which program to go for. Perhaps try one out for a month or two and then the other?
I have trained for 10+ years but definitely a novice. Not for strength more to try and look ‘better naked’.
Is it best to train full body a couple times a week or alternate? Does it really matter?
You are right, it’s definitely the nutrition during the week…(which is why I hired a bodyio coach). I have been told to lower my calorie intake to 1400 a day with 1lb bw of fat and protein. I was consuming much more than that…1800 calories approx.
I also think it could be the stress I put on myself. Stressing out that I have been playing with this program for 2 months and nothing has happened. I certainly haven’t gained…I just haven’t lost. Stressing about logging food… In one of Kiefers podcasts with Alex and Andrea they mention how easy CN is. But I actually find it challenging.

Brandon D ChristParticipantAs far your goals are concerned, your training program doesn’t really matter. I suppose I would recommend strong curves, because it’s more tailored to women and because I think Bret Contrareas is a very bright guy when it comes to training. That being said, I really don’t know what Strong Curves consists of.
One piece of advice I can give is, in my opinion, full body workouts tend to work better when you are focusing on fat loss. So I would recommend that.
