I am sure this is asked quite often on the forum but I am hoping to get an answer for these specific ones below.I read from others here saying "sweetleaf" is amongst the best, but because it is currently out of stock, I bought few other ones and hope someone here can suggest whether it's ok or not ok for ULC days.1. On Packet it says Stevia, but ingredients are:erythritol, steviol glycosides, vanilla extract2. Splenda Granulated, ingredients are:maltodextrin, sucralose3. Wholesome organic SteviaOrganic agave inulin, organic stevia extract (stevia rebaudiana), silicaI am not planning to have them everyday, but may make some low carb desserts once or twice in a week to overcome cravings. I also see many recipes with whey protein. Is it ok to have whey anytime of ULC days as long as it is with fat?

Of those three options, I think #1 is probably your best bet. I know Tex is a fan of erythritol being a-ok, I don't know much about it. #2 has maltodextrin which is a quick acting sweet carb so it's not ideal, but can probably be used in small amounts safely since the amounts of malto in it are probably minute.#3 I'm not sure about. Agave is generally a no no cuz it's almost entirely fructose, but this is agave inulin which I know nothing about. I know inulin is generally a fermentable fiber and acts as a pre-biotic in the gut. Not sure how the fact it's from agave interplays with that.Keep whey use to whey isolate, and yes, if you use it, have fat with it during ULC. BUT, that being said, don't go crazy on the stuff.. Whole food is always a better option. And if you experience stalling, excess whey use is one of the first things I'd cut out.

TCB, thank you for such helpful advice. Yea, I won't be using alot of whey isolate, it's probably just half a scoop (10-15g) to make the dessert?I think I also saw Tex and some other posted the use of Da Vinci Sugar Free Syrup. I googled it and it is actually made with splenda. Is that ok too? Because I live in a city where sugar-free products are extremely limited and I have to order online from US. I just wanna make sure it's ok before spending too much on it.

Splenda is sucralose, and I'm personally not a fan of it, so I try to heavily limit it. About the only thing I use that has it is Walden Farms Syrup, and I only use that stuff during ULC maybe 1-2 times a month.

Eh the syrup is okay since it is with Splenda (Sucralose) and it's liquid. I would just limit it to a moderate amount. I think Torani is another one but contains Ace-K, while it's not a huge issue, I like to limit any type of dessert treat making in the evenings where it's not a big concern like in the mornings. Insulin sensitivity and all.

@TCB -So Walden Farms Syrup is better than Da Vinci? I agree on limiting these products too but just nice to have a treat once in a while during ULC. @Big Tex- when you mean liquid, is it more recommended compared to granulated or powdered form? Which one is the best sweeteners that you highly recommend? And this is interesting to know that it's best to have them in the morning, I didn't know it would make a difference.

It's just another brand. They're both sucralose, therefore not great and should be limited. And Tex said it should be limited to the EVENINGS. Because you're less insulin sensitive in the evenings. The only artificial sweetener that has been shown to have no real insulin effects is pure stevia. Erythritol is a gray area for me, I know some like it. Sucralose(splenda) would probably be next. Regardless, my opinion is all sweeteners should be limited.

today I was trying out the sweeteners I bought and made a few desserts with them. And sweetleaf arrived too so I got to use them. I think I had around 20g carbs today, not counting the sweeteners though (sweetleaf, and splenda). I'm on my 3rd day of prep-phase, have I stuffed it up? (My carb intake is usually 10g per day)It just feels really weird to be eating something sweet during ULC days and I felt really insecured. This is actually my first time having sweeteners in my ULC days (been on CNS for nearly 2 months and redoing prep-phase now), and I don't plan on replying on them.

Dont use sweetener packets. They are completely different than the Tablet form of the sweeteners. Keifer has said this before. The packets contain Maltodextrin, and other simple sugars. But the tablet forms are ok. Sweetener packets are usually 1-2 carbs depending on the brand. So if you had 20g of carbs not including the sweetener, i guess that question is how much sweetener did you use?I personally would just avoid it if you can. Little things like making sweets could get in the way of progress, at max during prep phase youll be going 10 days without sweets. Then after that only 5-7. Discipline is part of any fat loss life style! Even this one!

oh nooo…does that mean i have to redo my prep phase?? I consumed 1.5 packets of sweetleaf, and 5 drops of liquid sweetleaf. Then I also baked some coconut macaroons using Splenda, which DOES have maltodextrin in it (packet says). But I only put the macaroons in my mouth, see what they tasted like and puked it out. So I actually didnt swallow any intentionally, but did have a sweet aftertaste in my mouth and I did try to wash my mouth several times to get rid of it. I was searching the ULC dessert recipes in this forum and made coconut ice cream with liquid stevia, and microwaved mud cake using stevia.Should I start again?

Unless you consumed crazy amount of it you're fine.

So 1.5 packet of stevia and 5 drops of liquid stevia won't ruin my prep phase right? (and I think some splenda might have passed my throat!!)So even liquid sweetleaf and packet sweetleaf are not allowed on ULC days? I will totally get rid of it if it is the case. May be I was reading older posts where some still consumed stevia on daily basis.

those drops and a few packets a day most likely will do very little.. you should be perfectly fine even on ULC days.. also even some splenda is fine you just don't want large amounts of itIf you are going to concern yourself over one little packet of sweetner you are going to drive yourself nuts:)
