Hey everyone!, new to the forum but not to dieting and working out, need help from you since I follow similar protocol from Kiefer csn (skiploading), got the cbl book but not the cns (how ironic lol), I'm trying to improve my workout rutine because I think I can get better results trying something different for once, firts I train high volume kind of a depletion workout most of the time, I want to improve my quads, so I was looking into books from jim wendler, dave tate, matt perryman, mark ripptoe etc etc, which one of those or any other book would you recommend for improving hypertrophy , I'm not looking for strength, I'm looking to maintain muscle and improve the shape while cutting, so which program do you suggest for that? I don't usually bulk , if anything I go up 10 lbs and start cutting again to try to stay lean for the longest I can maintain the diet while at 7% bf. Tyvm guys! Blessings!Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

CBL isn't really designed for people that want to be sub 10%, so you are really going to have to watch your food intake.  The authors you mentioned are powerlifters, so I wouldn't really say they are appropriate for hypertrophy.  As far as "improving the shape of your muscles", you will probably want to look into some bodybuilding stuff.  Read some T-Nation articles or something.

Tyvm ibo , you are right about cbl not being suitable for sub 10% bf that's why I do skiploading and my rest of the week is almost no carbs and very little cals, and about the authors being all powerlifters , that's also true al though I thought that maybe somebody here had used one of those protocols successfully for hypertrophy , but really appreciate your reply none the lessSent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

To be honest, most of the folks on here aren't into bodybuilding or physique competitions.  I am not aware of a single active member that has competed in a physique or bodybuilding contest.  Nearly everyone on here is a recreational lifter, strength oriented (like myself), or just into general fitness.  Nevertheless checking out Cory's log:  http://athlete.io/forum/index.php?topic=3144.0;topicseen, Randy's log:  http://athlete.io/forum/index.php?topic=7430.360 and Mike's log:  http://athlete.io/forum/index.php?topic=6150.5220.  They probably know more about bodybuilding than anyone else on these forums.  Try shooting them a PM too.

Thanks again ibo! As silly as it may sound I only competed once back in 09 but I've had been in contest shape a couple of times , and the reason I did it last time (about a year ago) without competing was mere experimentation , to see if it was actually sustainable to maintain that condition with intermittent fasting, which I found way too difficult once you get down to around 7% bf (I was a walking zombie), now I'm looking to improve my physique and get to the lowest bf% that can actually be maintained year round.Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

God bless you.  I couldn't imagine trying to maintain 7% year round.
