bigguyskyMemberSo i have been reading through both books, i dont think im clear on what keifer wants done exactly with whey protein and leucine. He sounds like hes a big fan, but theres some deal with certain things spiking insulin. Is it different for CBL and CNS with supplements that should be taken.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorThe only time you will be taking whey and leucine is PWO.

bigguyskyMemberI guess im just not getting it, seems like he thinks leucine and whey are very important. I guess just PWO though. So he wants you to take in a good amount of whey and a big amount of leucine seperately? And i know he stresses is on CBL, but on CNS do you still hold off on breakfast? Is there any other key supps im not thinking of?

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorWhile you don't have to skip breakfast, in can speed up results. And leucine and Whey are important if you are training which is why you would use 25-50g whey and 5g leucine in a PWO shake.Other supps would be caffeine, MCT/coconut oil, creatine, and EPA/DHA.

Richard SchmittModeratorAbout 25-30g of whey is good and 3-5g of Leucine is also good. Whey helps with recovery and Leucine keeps muscle from being catabolic. Gives the effect of carbs without any carbs.

bigguyskyMemberOk, what about the carnivore beef protein? Also i know he talks about an intra-workout drink? Is that for CNS as well? Any thoughts?

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorCarnivore is not a very good supplement. It's collagen protein. You are much much better of with a good whey isolate. You can add some hydrolyzed casein as well.Intra-workout drinks are more recommended with for bulking with CBL.

bigguyskyMemberOk good to know, i have been taking carnivore since i was doing the anabolic diet for a while. I was really debating on doing CBL SA, there doesnt seem to be a BIG difference with CBL SA and CBL DB, besides that you dont eat as much and your meal timing is slightly different correct? I guess CNS would still be better for someone with higher BF than CBL SA?

Richard SchmittModeratorCNS is better to lose body fat. And DB yes you eat more.

Trevor G FullbrightModeratorLike Tex said, CNS is geared toward losing BF while maintaining muscle. You can lose BF on CBL SA, but it's a much slower process and requires more work to tweak it for your body. The biggest difference between SA and DB is about you eat while ULC and frequency of backloads.

Two completely different systems to achieve completely different results. If you want to put on some muscle and lose BF CBL SA is also another option. I would add a quality fish oil to any diet however!

bigguyskyMemberWell obviously CBL SA isnt as good for BF loss or everyone would be doing that. CNS from what i understand is complete for sure fat loss without needing to tweak it and being more effective. Seems like CBL is a fragile thing when you are at a higher % BF like me. As much as i want to always add size, but seems like CNS is better for fat loss sadly.
