Hey guys,i am currently having a discussion with a friend whether sweet corn is a good food for backloading. he is concerned about the fructose content. so i looked on the web and found many sources, some saying it contains mostly glucose, others stating there is a lot of sucrose in it. so my question is what is true and is anyone here using it (regularly or infrequently) for his/her backload.thanks for your input!have a nice one,t0x

Half is correct. Since its a starch I'm betting it'll be ok say for Thanksgiving or once in a while. Like sweet potatoes I assume. Gotta remember sucrose is 50% glucose and 50% fructose. Meaning your body can use the nasty table sugar in the fat cells if you go overboard on fructose.

So it is high on sucrose (my initial question)?I'm struggling because some say it's mostly glucose, others say the majority would be sucrose..

I'll have to look around. Don't have an encyclopedia on foods.
