I am switching from early afternoon to evening, which according to Kiefer is the best time.  My question is, according to the book I should shift my meals later starting from lunch.  Additionally, should i be having a miday snack for staying lean or still stay below 30g carbs for the first half of day prior to workout?  thanks.

follow the book to get your recommended protein and fats pre workout and tweak from there, yes you can have a snack not sure why it would have carbs though? im not sure where you read that you should always stay below 30g for the first half of the day

You are fine.  You don't need to add a snack in the afternoon, unless you want to.  Personally I just eat lunch, I don't even have a pre-workout shake.

That is my daily routine not the original posters. Why do you not have the pre-workout shake? If fat loss is your primary goal would you cut it out? I like getting the extra MCT in at that point but if there's benefits to being in a semi-fasted state I would be willing to make the switch.

That's pretty much what I thought.  I do appreciate it.  I assume you are DB and not SA correct?

The pre-workout shake doesn't sit well with me.  I take a intra workout shake, so I don't really need a pre-workout one anyway.

Do you think it would help more body fat reduction if I cut it out?

Doubtful.  It is rather insignificant unless you are below 10% bodyfat.

    SA.

Hmmm...well then I wonder if I am eating too little?  My lunch is 1/2 of yours.  I usually consume 8 oz of lean ground beef or chicken and 1-2 cups veggies (lettuce usually).  I am trying to get to 180lbs lean.  Sitting at 190 right now.  Do you have the pre workout shake even on HIIT?  Curious.

I would increase your food intake pre-workout a bit.  I think a pound of lean ground beef (90% lean) would be good.  Check out my simplified chart for fat loss:  http://athlete.io/forum/index.php?topic=8845.0
