shaffe43MemberI wish that I could learn more about the studies that he talks about in the article. What do you think keifers response would be? Other than hes wrong.http://www.t-nation.com/diet-fat-loss/carbohydrate-customized-diet

Richard SchmittModeratorThe problem I have with this article is the distrubtion of the carbs. Is it throughout the day? Or in the evenings? I know folks (including myself) that have gone WAY past 2500 calories, or 312g/187g/55g (C/P/F) worth of food in the evenings. Not saying this idea is bad, but lack of information in my opinion.

Many people have been successful eating this way. I don't think Kiefer would call him wrong. However, I think the point of this article was to devise a dieting strategy for people who like higher carb diets. Not to devise an optimal diet.I think in the end he recommended a 40/30/30 diet (pretty much the Zone diet), which is actually very similar to CBL over the time frame of a week.

Thats a great point. I do tend to forget about CBL (since im still in the CN portion) I tend to think about CBL as a strength gaining protocol rather than for weightloss.great points.

backlash79MemberI found this article much more entertaining:http://articles.elitefts.com/nutrition/do-carbohydrate-sources-matter/
Young IIFYM users will chime in with, “but I eat cereal at all my meals for my carbs bro and a carb is a carb to the body.” My response is:1.) You are likely young and insulin sensitive so you have more leeway.2.) You are meticulous in controlling energy intake and tracking every single food you eat.3.) Let’s see how your pancreas is holding up at age 70.4.) The 1g of test you’re on a week limits the uptake of glucose into fat cells and that surely helps now, doesn’t it? [3].
