My friend is wanting to start CN and was wondering if his digusting addiction of dipping winter green tabacco will have any effects on his ULC days. I told him to get the book and read it and said it says nothing about this.  He's not on the forums yet so I thought I would ask for him.

Other than the potential for getting jaw cancer, I can't see that it would be too much of a problem. However, a lot of it would depend on how much he's dipping too.  If he's one of these types (here in Kentucky, this is a norm) that goes through more than a can a day, then he might want to cut it back.I can't say for CNS, but I know that when I went paleo for a while (which is close in similarity) I would get wicked heart burn EVERY time I dipped.  This only happened when I was eating unprocessed foods regularly. For long term health though?  He probably should stop.

As far as fat loss, it will most likely help.  The only thing that may be an issue is if there is some sort of flavoring or sweetner that has an effect on insulin.

^^If they're only using the wintergreen dip, I don't think that will be too much of a problem either.  But it still wouldn't hurt to check for sugars.

So we did some research and most brands have “Ethyl Alcohol”As a flavoring agent and sucrose. He only dips 4-5 times per day. Should he restart the prep phase?

Smoke, nicotine gum, nicotine patch, cold turkey, or just do it anyways.  I really don't think it's going to be a huge deal.

Yeah I don't think it would either, were doing this together and I really don't him to have to restart (because i would have too) since our first CN is Monday and boy let me tell ya it's gonna epic LOL! But, I thought it was worth asking for opinions on the forums.
