monsoonParticipantI think oatmeal is probably the worst thing to start with your CN. It is very low glycemic and doesn't give you an insuline boost as desired on CN. Also you need to get in some protein durch your carb nite. Try to start off with potatoes or white rice together with a good amount of meat.
I thought oatmeal was good? Jeez. Can you eat it at any point? And no I don't eat meat, I'm a vegetarian. I had some nuts and protein shake earlier.

Oatmeal is good for keeping your insulin level elevated for an extended period ("slow" carb), long enough to get you into the fat storing time zone, but not spiked high enough to get the effect you want (leptin and thyroid hormone boost and fat cell TG dump). So it's good for that.Oatmeal is definitely not good for ULC periods either unless it was in miniscule amounts... why bother?

Sveta1017MemberThanks so much for all of this feedback! I really appriciate it! I think I did something wrong because I started with 2 donuts and man did I feel SICK. I got some bloated, started burping like crazy and felt dizzy and light headed. Is that too sugary or fatty to start with? I know I did something right with the night though because I got the sweats and dehydrated and I know those are some good signs things are working...
I would stick to leaving the donuts for the latter half of the evening (last 2.5-3hrs) since they are a little on the fatty side. 🙂

MikehrMemberOatmeal packets can be had on CN about half way through max, if you did want to have them you wanna have them first and covered in dextrose lol. As for the donuts thing it depends on the person, PHx probably has the best female results on this forum and if you go through her log she does back to back CN's and starts them off fatttyyy. (keep in mind she trains her ass off 6 days a week)

heyjamiParticipantI start with Red Vines (low-fat, high sugar).I then move on to rice with dinner (turkey chili last CN), cheese, whatever sounds good.Twix or other cookie/candy desire (macarons!). I've also done mexican food for dinner (beans, rice, chicken or carne asada, guac, etc, tons of corn chips!).I end the night with some ice cream or other dessert item. For the first couple of CNs I kept a list all week of the things I wanted to enjoy. That worked well through some parties!I try to stay GF but occasionally dabble.  I suspect the corn chips were causing some serious bloat. I can't go all out but I do eat until satisfied. That seems to be working better. I'm on Day 49 and I've had 8 CNs (including a double one on Xmas eve/Xmas day). Down 9 lbs and 3-4% bodyfat (49 days). This is a new low weight/bodyfat level for me.Except for the extra CN, I don't cheat. I'm super happy with my results. I need another 4% off to get to goal - hope it takes me just another 8 weeks or so.I don't count anything except Carbs (just to make sure I'm under 30). I workout 4 days/week (weights) and occasionally do HIIT sprints after CN. Good luck!
