blkx3MemberI'm sure there are a bunch of posts about this but I don't know where to look or how to find them so if you can either respond with an answer or the link to the posts, that would be great! What are some good ideas for the actual carb night. What does a typical one look like for you guys? Anyone have some great carb nite ideas. So far I have had pizza and donuts and ice cream for all of mine but I'd love some new ideas of things that are still perfect for carb nite.

Richard SchmittModeratorLook at other member's logs, look through the forums. Especially under ULC recipes or Foods! Etc.

blkx3MemberIts says its off limits to me. I'm a member of the board yet whenever I try to go into people's logs, they are locked and I don't have access. What am I missing?

Because you don't own the CBL just the CNS book, you still have access to plenty of information. I went skimming through the threads and found a couple. I would look under the Ultra Low Carb Recipes, there is plenty of carb choices there.http://dangerouslyhardcore.com/forum/index.php?board=42.0 For Member's Logs

blkx3MemberNope, I own BOTH books. I actually bought the CBL book first.

Richard SchmittModeratorOh yes ma'am I'm sorry, it's difficult to see if you have or not. I'm sure you have access just waiting for the authorization from Kiefer and his DH crew. They're moving shop right now so they're busy

backlash79MemberMy first meal on CN in order to try to follow the high carb low fat guidelines is usually fruity pebbles! DH Kiefer even mentioned them in one of his December videos. I haven't really deviated from the fruity pebbles for my first meal on CN.Dinner is usually a lower fat cut of meat like lean pork or chicken + rice. The last feeding is where I switch things up, right now it's ice cream but I've also done yogurt, watermelon, cake, fudge, kids halloween candy, cookies...etc

samuel r walkerParticipantI also buy unsweetned koolaid and dump a ton of dextrose in there

The first thing I do is use the search feature in the upper right of the screen, that brings up a boatload of great information. Then yesterday, while out, on a whim I checked the DH forum from my phone and a tapatalk notification came up, which I installed.. I love love love how tapatalk works to organize new posts, as the one thing I find with forums, like this that looks like Simple Machine, is that the thread tree gets out of control quickly..

Last Saturday's CarbNite for me:2:30 PM: Shockwave sandwich (training SW Chest and Bis - with pre and post (sans dextrose) workout shakes per CBL) -- Yeah! 1st SW session finally, new BB set and power rack! Merry Xmas!!~4:30: 8 spicy California sushi rolls (white rice, not that brown rice crap!) and some Christmas cookies (courtesy of a special friend)~7 PM: Order of Chicken Tikka Makhani (with all the rice), Mulligatawny soup and some papadum (likey mucho Indian food - yes I know that is cross culteral; chaser of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale~10:30 1/3 to 1/2 pint of B&J Karmel Sutra and a big red crackle chocolate cookie from Panera Bread Co. (didn't get the cherry cheese Danish this time -- sorry Kiefer, maybe this next time)Started at 173# Saturday morning ---> 177.8# post-CN Sunday morning ---> this morning 172.4# after HIIT, HIIT, SW-Legs and some unmentionable semi-HIIT activities. Curious where I will be this Saturday 😉I did the pizza on my first couple of CarbNites... major bloat, maybe from gluten? So there is one example for you with too many gory details.

monsoonParticipantHere's tonight's carb nite, which is pretty much standard for me. I'm not including ULC portion of the day which is heavy on the protein1 low cal gatorade2 bowls oatmeal4 crescent rolls6 Hershey's Simple Pleasures dark chocolate pieces4 chocolate chip cookies1 Magnum chocolate ice cream bar1 piece chocolate cakeYes, I like chocolate. Some people might call this gluttonous, but it's working for me.

Alexander BaurParticipantI think oatmeal is probably the worst thing to start with your CN. It is very low glycemic and doesn't give you an insuline boost as desired on CN. Also you need to get in some protein durch your carb nite. Try to start off with potatoes or white rice together with a good amount of meat.

blkx3MemberThanks so much for all of this feedback! I really appriciate it! I think I did something wrong because I started with 2 donuts and man did I feel SICK. I got some bloated, started burping like crazy and felt dizzy and light headed. Is that too sugary or fatty to start with? I know I did something right with the night though because I got the sweats and dehydrated and I know those are some good signs things are working…
