Jerem_FoeHammerMemberHey guys sorry for the newb question. I did a search but nothing came up oddly enough. My question is; how long between carbs?Like how long should I wait or should I just be a glutton and have a steady flow of carbs on carb nite?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Richard SchmittModeratorPersonally, I think it is how much you can actually tolerate in a steady flow. As long as you are eating for six hours

SpatzModeratorI understand the 6-8 hour carb nite window to be more set like a steady flow of carbohydrates for 6 hours (or 1.5-2 hours between meals), and hours 7-8 more of a buffer if you really NEEDED that last piece of pie that you didn't know your family was going to be serving. I personally try to keep my glycogen re-feeds to 5 hours, with hours 6-7 as a buffer.Specifically times between meals varies per person. Some say a steady flow, others say every two hours. It all depends on what works for you. Go one route for a month and see how you like it. You have the rest of your life for tweaking. 🙂

Scope75GuestI use to think it was all about steady flow of carbs for 6-8hrs but now after reading and listening to more things I space out my carbs and have something every 1-2hrs and my refeeds seem to go much smoother and are more enjoyable.

This is how I've almost always done mine and it's always been much more enjoyable then stuffing myself the whole time.

That is exactly what we have found out too. Kiefer mentions in many different podcasts it's about having multiple insulin spikes, not one continuous spike.

Scope75GuestYeah now I focus on getting 5-8 big spikes and call it good. I feel you could get by on about 30-50g carbs every hour and reap all the benifits and end up not gaining much if any weight/water.

We've found that to be true if those carbs are gluten free.

GnomerParticipantI have smaller carb meals over the 6-8 hour period because I get full fast.
