FreyaGuestSorry… Im new to CBL too. My comp is next year. Personally, ATM I think off and on season diet should be pretty much the same, with some minor alterations to fine tune…. Thats why I am starting a year ahead to experiment with a new diet. 5 months out is still a while, but you dont want to start something now than decide its not for you and change it…. Thatll just mess up your prep. Consistency is the key.Have you competed before and how long have you been building up for this comp?

Intensity JunkieMemberI wouldn't use CBL the way it is normally.I think if anything you do CNS... with maybe 2, tops 3 mini carb nites.Where are you at right now? on bf% Is this your first show? reason I ask is because these diets are already a go by feel type of diet, so make sure you really pay attention.

omar57Participantthis will be my second show I did the same one last year as well. Last year I came in way to flat I didn't carb up enough and I won't be making that mistake again. This was also with a typical bodybuilder diet which was carb cycling during the week. BF% right now is between 10-12, I just started the CBL prep phase yesterday so this week I will not be lifting, and starting on Friday that will be exactly 16 weeks out from the show. My plan is to continue back loading every night and do HIIT every time I train which is 5 days a week, but I will not be back loading with “junk food” all I will use is white rice, potoates, white bread, and dextrose powder. I probably will not go any higher than 300g of carbs at first and as the weight drops and depending on how fast it drops i'll either raise that number or lower it.

I think this is a good plan. Kiefer is an advocate of this too and I am with him on this...and that is doing the least amount of work to achieve the intended goal. The majority of us have to work for a living and can use the extra time anyways. Obviously you will need to get a bit more aggressive as the show nears, but as you said in your last sentence, you will adjust as needed. Just make sure you are honest with where you are at and where you need to be and you will be good to go.
